Hello all, I went and started mean streets, got horrifird at the ammount of typing and moved onto martian memorandum. I then played the rest till I got to a meesage screen in overseer asking for disc 5. I got the game shipped over from america via ebay in a game bundle. Unfortunately he could not find the second case with the 5th disc and DVD. So i was wondering, anyone here from the UK willing to burn a copy of disc 5 and post it to me? Im happy to pay for the disc and P+P. Cheers

It'd probably be easier to just download it from a torrent somewhere. At least then you wouldn't have to wait as long. (and you could burn it yourself)

Hiya. I got the dvd version from bittorrent. Unfortunately i discovered the crash after reloading room bug. I solved this by switching to software mode for the VT, activating the video and then switching back. Unfortunately when i got to nexus, this no longer worked as in software VR mode it wouldnt play the video of the injection. It only hung on a black screen. I got past this by turning off the mpeg2 decoder as well so it skipped the video. Now I am stuck at the video after the brain maze thing where the mutant comes in and gives you the letter and card. It hangs on the black screen with decoder, it skipsm plays audio then hangs without the decoder. I have had to do that puzzle so many times trying different settings to get past that point, i can do the puzzle in under 10 seconds.

Can someone help in working out how to get past this point? I dont want to use a savegame because its not me who played the game then and i have a different score.

If that faiks, does anyone know where i can get a torrent of cd 5? I notice you dont get the problem with the cd version.

cheers

You have to play with the settings a bit. Try going from Hardware to Software mode. Also change the detail to its lowest settings and the resolution too. I managed to finnish the entire game using this method.

WEEEEE!!! Got past it. All it took was to run a virtual machine, emulate win 95, play the puzzle but vids dont work and then sve the game. I even heard some of the midi music. Transfer save game back to the xp version of the game and now i have finished it. Pity no tex murphy game 6. Oh well 5 was fun.
