I got my first real job. Working at one of the greatest places on earth, Toys R Us!
It was the best interview of my life, it was a group interview where the person had us describe out favorite cartoon character. I went with Homer. Then we had to go into the store and pick out a toy that we liked. I went straight for the Legos hoping that we would get to keep them (Unfortunatly we were not.) Then we grouped into partners and got to know the other person then we stood up and gave a small speech about why the other person should get the job.
Let me tell you. I nailed the interview. I spoke very clearly and I didn't whisper like most everyone else. I seemed very confident and I had a smile on my face the whole time. Not just because I am generally a happy person, but because the interview was actually a lot of fun.
Well, that about wraps it up. I'm pretty excited. I'm gonna use my ten percent discount to go ahead and get that Lego set

I'm pretty sure it's a lot easier working at Toys'R'Us than it is working at EB Games, now called GameStop.
Go for it man, there's good times to be had working in a store as long as your boss is cool and the coworkers are easy to get along with. Or vice versa.

Congrats on the job! I totally would have headed to the lego section too. If only i had the $400 last year to buy that 5000 piece lego Star Destroyer.

I've got god knows how much legos stashed in the basement. I got tons for xmas and birthdays when I was a kid, plus the hoard my brother let me inherit off of him.
Now what I REALLY wish is, if I could find them blueprints I know I hid somewhere...

Congratulations! Great, now with that out of the way, can you get me a good deal on the good old fashioned technics lego? The kinds with cogs and poles and those red beams? I remember a time when technics lego was not a.k.a. 'Bionicle'. Blaugh! I would love an old fashioned set - I could spend hours...days putting together the coolest of contraptions. I love lego. (It's my Birthday the 1st by the way

I loved toys, but even as a kid I was still way to judgemental of them and their quality... don't get me wrong, I enjoyed them... but the responses I used to get when I would ask questions like "what's the frequency resposne range of Elmo's inbuilt speaker?" were priceless. I think I even managed to rig a Fisher Price tape player up the the computer and used it is a "studio" tape deck even though the quality of my Sesame Street recordings were less then inspring...

Lol. That reminds me of when I went to a computer swap meet back in the year 2000 when I was 15. I saw a copy of Under a Killing Moon on the table and I actually asked the seller what the system requirements for the game was. Remember, this is the year 2000!!!
