Just sitting here at work bored out of my mind because there are no deviants out doing anything bad. Thought I'd wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving (who celebrate the holiday anyway) considering nobody else has yet. Hope its a great day!

I thought about it, but figured that us Yanks were in a minority. But what the heck. I'm very thankful for this board, and the friends I've made on it.

Getting ready to leave so.....

Happy Turkey day!!!!!

Much love to you all.

Is Thanksgiving a day, or a weekend, or a holiday-period, or... what? What is the specifics of the thing?

I also heard it's about eating turkey to celebrate genocide. What the hey?

Thanksgiving is one day, the fourth Thursday of November. It commemorates the first harvest meal from the early 1600's that the early European colonists (particularly the Pilgrims) and native Americans shared together as a gesture of goodwill. Although there were a lot of mistakes in subsequent times among other settlers, on the parts of both the native Americans and the colonists, this was an auspicious and innocent time that we like to celebrate as a time of thanksgiving to God and others we love.

Beautiful summation Jerry Dan.

Also, it's about stuffing yourself with cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie :D

We need thanksgiving here in Aus... but then again we probably could do without another excuse to stuff ourselves silly full of food before summer... seeing as we are apparently becoming an obese nation, if you can count beer guts!
