Life little joke on me

I'm so sorry, sweetheart. Right now, nothing any of us can do or say will be much comfort, but we all wish you well. It's a tough thing, parting as friends is as hard (or harder) than bitter enemies.

Maybe some time apart will change things....maybe even for the better.

The best thing to do is simply care good care of yourself, or better yet, let friends and family know, so they can help take care of you.

If I can offer one small piece of advice: Lay off the alcohol - it only makes matters worse.

I'll give a great big ditto for the alcohol comment, and also I just want to tell you that's it's not over yet. Like Jen said, nothing right now that anyone can tell you is going to ease the sting. Nothing really can ease the sting of a broken relationship. But the word is sting. Eventually the sting goes away, and when it does, you get to look forward to a whole new chapter.

I'm really sorry that you had to find it out over the holidays though.

To Jen. Indeed words wont change anything at this time and time apart might help us, i just dont know. Erica has had a verry bad childhood and thats why she has problems being intemate hence the stress in our relationship. its hard to be with someone if all they want is u to be a hot water bottle instead of a partner.

I know i been puting it all inside me and that just doesnt work in the end it must be talked about or u go mad.

To Demonlawyer I been living one day at a time for a while now its time to think of what i want and not just what erica wanted in the end i gave 150% to her i did not mind her being not intemate as long as she made me feel im loved but she just couldnt becouse it might get to intemecy how muth we talked it still ended up there every time.

Who knows we might end up meating in england at this point im just shooting arrows and looking at what i could do.

Hey man, I am glad you came to us to share your thoughts. It's good to have friends ready and willing to help share the burden and help lighten the load.

As Jen said, I am sure some time apart will enable you both to give yourselves the time you need to figure out what you want out of the relationship. And a lot of the long term couples I know have spent some time apart at some stage, but it is far from being a bad thing.

Either way, you have displayed great strength and substance in your personality, and always look upon life, even though you deal with issues such as your eyesight, with optimism and confidence... its a refelction of your personality, and those who love you realise this... you strike me as a person who would have an amazing effect on the people you meet, I mean just look how well adored you are here.

I am very sorry to hear about your circumstances. My best advice is to not let the situation destroy you. As someone mentioned previously, the time apart might be a change for the best. Whatever that 'best' might be, make sure your heart is open to it. It is even possible that you will end up back with the same girl, only better and stronger.

I say this because my wife and I, before we got married, were together for nine years. Then we broke up. Two years later, I came crawling back and we semi-eloped and got married. That was almost 28 years ago - no end in sight.

So don't crash and burn. Take care of yourself and be open for the possibilities.

Michel, we love and support you. I hope you don't take any blows to your self-esteem through this, since it is evident from this board alone that you are one of the most awesome people I know. We will do whatever we can do to help you out.

I been asked to come live in england and i still have to do alot of talking to erica about what now but at least we dont hate one another.

but then we been together for 15 odd years and u tend to know all the weak spots of one another so its so easy to be hatefull even spitefull im just glad we both arent that we.

We decided to talk afther the festive days to at least end this year on a happy note. we are going to the cinama tomorrow to see the new movie I am Legend with will smith.

You went from a 42 to a 36? Wow! That's great! Uh, as long as you are eating good meals and not starving yourself. Sometimes, when people go through a situation like yours they have a tendency to either eat too much or way too little. Keep healthy in the new year!
