Because that's what a chat is! People show up and we talk and exchange ideas and talk about goulash and shoe polish and...and...oh my God! We can talk about TEX! (big sigh) But, nobody came and McD and TOG got lonely and ran out of things to say to one another and departed - sad, but still friends.
The moral of the story is: It is amoral to hold a chat and no one shows up! Ah! But we are not alone in the galaxy and I'm sure an alien will drop by any minute and I can chat with him...or, her....or, it. This is TOG signing off. I am SOOOOO sorry.... OH MY GOD! (Says Cub over and over)...
I woke up at 4am yesterday morning, and then when it came to 10pm that evening I literally collapsed from exhaustion. I had set my alarm clock on my phone for 12:45 am (15 mins before the chat time here in Aus)... but the darn thing had ran out of battery before then!
It is not 5:00am (3:16pm EST US) and I am in the chat room, and understandibly nobody is there.
OH my god I am so soffry... perhaps the powers at be did not want me to join in! But god damn it I was looking forward to it!

I'm really sorry too... I just wasn't sure when the chat is and I forgot 
But I've got an idea, maybe next time we can try some improvements:
1) We can write in a thread the _exact_ time of the chat (in every timezone which is important for us) - then everybody will be able to momorize it
2) We can use a web chat (and not through MSN) to avoid any technical problems

They need to increase the stamp prices to $10. 
I had all kinds of trouble getting to the chat site. First, I didn't know where it was. After re-reading every comment on every thread that had any mention of the chat, I finally found one and only one comment that had a link to where the chat was supposed to be.
I linked there and spent a LOT of time trying to get MSN to accept a nickname.
Then I tried clicking on the calendar, hoping to get a confirmation of the time and place for the chat, but was informed that the calendar had member-only access. Then I tried clicking on 'chat' to see what would happen. Again, members-only.
So I clicked 'join now', trying desperately to become a 'member' and was told to wait for some kind of confirmation. Now, two days later, I'm still waiting to be admitted.
In the meantime, I thought maybe I'm in the wrong place. So I come back to the message board and found a thread entitled, 'Tex Murphy chat going on right now' - or something to that affect. It would have been nice if that thread would have had some information - ANY information - about where the chat is and how one is supposed to get into it.
Maybe I had the wrong location. I was trying to reach the chat from here:
