Sooo, seen any good bands lately?
I went to see a concert the other night...it was a group called Neversed opening up for Seether, Breaking Benjamins and Three Days Grace....watched Neversed, Seether and Breaking Benjamins but left before Three Days Grace came on....my girlfriend and I had a long day and we were just beat and ready to go home.
The concert was excellent...Seether was very good and Breaking Benjamins did a great job of getting the crowd moving. I typically don't listen to these guys unless they are on the radio, but I found myself really enjoying the music. Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago at the 2nd Summer Sanitarium tour with Metallica....I had originally never liked Mudvayne, but they were freaking good in concert...so I've given them a second chance.
I want to see Metallica again, but they aren't touring in the states this year...well, except for the Bonnaroo music festival down in TN this summer, but I don't really wanna pay $250 for the 4 day pass...even though it would mean that I could see Pearl Jam, OAR, and Will Nelson...but still....
So, you guys going to any good shows or have you been?

Last band I saw was the Charlie Daniels' Band... I was suppose to go see Toby Keith last month, but stupid stuff came up... You know that stupid thing, Life, that seems to get in the way of all the fun things...
There's a big Summer bash that a Radio station here throws every summer where there are like a couple of dozen country stars/bands, we are planning to go, it's been 2 years since we went...

Last concert I saw was, sorry to say, on TV. It was Fatboy/Slim at Brighton Beach. Not sure what kind of music - electronica, maybe. Anyway, I really loved the music and the crowd (huge!!!) seemed peaceful yet fun-loving.
The last live group I saw was Yanni. Absolutely incredible! These are world-class musiciansworking remarkable magic on their instruments. I didn't think I would like that kind of music. Boy, was I wrong!

haven´t seen any good bands lately but I will see some bands in 08.
I´ll see the mighty oldschool L.A. Punkband the adolescents in June , go to a mini festivial in april ( called the fiendforcefest), and there will probably be some other gigs.
But what I´m most looking forward to are the first gigs of my own ( brandnew) band ( still unnamed, even though I think I know the name it will be in the end). Our drummer knows the the guys that are responsible for some nightly outdoor festival ( not only music there´s gonna be all kinds of stuff). We were offered one of the slots there and if we can finish enough of my songs until then we´ll have our first gig there. We´ll only do it if we´ve got enough songs completed and if we feel ready for it, but I think there´s a good chance , and i love to play outside in the night. The songs we´re working on are amazing and in any way we´ll start to play our butts off in the second half of this year ( a myspace page will follow in some months),
and when we´ve got around 19,20 songs done ( the rough structures for about 7 or 8 already exist, plus 3 or 4 are close to be finished) we´ll record them and publish them in some way. It will definately be a very ambitious year for my new band and I can´t wait for whatever comes.

Late last year (about November), I saw the recently reformed Crowded House live at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. Terrific concert! Neil Finn is my favourite song writer of all time. Very loud, rocking and energetic. I really wasn't expecting to see a concert of this quality. Hoping to see Paul McCartney this year if he tours.
I found it interesting to know that George Micheal is touring again this year in the US for the first time in over 17 years. I know his private life is very sketchy at times with the whole public bathroom fiasco and what have you, but you gotta admit, the guys got some hits out there. Don't know if I would actually go to his show, but I do like a few of his songs.

Going to see George Carlin this weekend...
Do Comedians count as a band??? Yeah, I guess not, but I'm still seeing a live performance...

Blue oyster cult would be pretty sweet....I like a lot of their songs. Have you ever heard Metallica's cover of Astronomy? It is excellent.TexMex wrote:Haven't seen any bands lately. Saw Roger Waters a few years ago. It was magical. Just magical. Going to see Robin Trower on Thursday, and Blue Oyster Cult with CCR in july, as well as this Pink Floyd tribute band performing The Wall in July. Should be awesome.
Is it CCR with or without John Fogerty? If it's without, it's just not the same.

Demonlawyer wrote:Fatboy slim is really cool. The last concert I went to was The Police last year but I'm going to the V festival in August which should be good - Amy Winehouse, Kaiser Chiefs, Lenny Kravitz, The Verve, Squeeze and Girls Aloud. Can't wait....
You have no idea how close I came to seeing The Police in concert! It happened like this:
Joel: *walks up to the ticket box, second in line at 9:00AM of the first day of sale* Hi, two tickets to the Police please, as close to the front and centre if possible.
Clerk: no problem *smiles, looks at computer, does this for about two minutes, longer than it usually takes* Ok, the closest I can get to the front is back in fourth row, but it is off to the side a little.
Joel: aaahhh ok...hmmm...
Clerk: oh no, hang on! I can actually get you two seats in the centre, but in fifth row.
Joel: Ok, you know what, i'll take those ones. I don't mind sacrificing 1 row for a centre view.
Clerk: no problem, Sir. *goes back to computer, takes about 3 minutes this time* Ummm, I apologise but I seem to have lost those seats.
Joel: *sighs* ok, can you get fourth row back?
Clerk: ummm *goes back to screen for a minute* yes
Joel: ok, i'll take those!
Clerk: *2 minutes later* sorry, I lost those too, but I can now get those fifth row back
Joel: whatever, lets just get them.
*tickets are issued and I go to uni. I logon on the Ticketmaster website and bring up a floor plan of the the MCG (the venue the concert is to be held) and discover that she has actually given me seats at the back of the stadium* F********K! Worst $500 EVER!
I then collect myself and calmly call them, explained what has happened. It turns out that it was her first day on the job, they acnowledged fault for the error and refunded my money 100% So, a sad and happy ending at the same time
But the Verve are going to ROCK! I just hope they stay around a little longer this time and not break up a third time.
To Jim:
Wow. After like a year, ya remember me. Thanks a lot for that last overseer disc. Who's idea was it to ship copies of one of the greatest adventure games ever without one of the discs?
To Adnis:
Metallica's always reminded me of BOC a lot. Their acoustic cover of Veterans of Psychic Wars is great. Sanitarium is where I started to notice it. Awesome song.
Fogerty hasn't been with CCR in a while. It sucks, cause his voice was so unique to the music. I'm sure it'll be awesome, though. I have faith in Fogerty-less CCR
