What's a girl like you doing in a nice place like this?

I've just finished replaying PD (great fun!). Near the end, I noticed a huge plothole. . .

Tex has made it to the Mayan ruins. He's put the labyrinth puzzle pieces together, progressed through the mazes, gathered the required objects, combined them as necessary, dispensed with the wasps, solve the daggar puzzle, solved the sounding stones puzzle, solved the kings tiles puzzle, survived the fireball chamber (game player mode), solved the petagon chamber puzzle (game player mode). . .

Slides down the shaft to the ascension chamber. . .

Well, lookie who's here! Regan!

And how did she get here? Did she manage to solve all those puzzles, too? And then did some secretive Mayan people quickly put all the object back where they were, reset the puzzles, revived the wasps, etc., preparing for the next entrant?

Or did Regan find a hidden, secret, easy passage that Tex was too DUI (detectiving under the influence) to find?

Yeah, I know. . .IT'S ONLY A COMPUTER GAME! But still, it took a lot of gut fortitude to suspend disbelief for this one!

Or is it just me?

You know there are at least 2 other Threads I can think of where we are arguing over Details... Very few people seem to care about Details on this Message board...

You and me seem to like those Details that stir the mind...

I believe it was mentioned awhile back that Regan found a different way in. She didn't follow Tex's path.

Trust a man to do it the hard way!!!
JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually...Regan was an alien and she atomized herself and reformed at the bottom of the mayan shaft just in time to meet up with Tex....I only know that because it's in the Unedited version of the Pandora Book that I bought for 1200 pesos while in Mexico (pronounced May-hee-ko) on an archealogical dig.

Well, this is a puzzle (sorry for the bad pun). How about this scenario: Since Jackson Cross and Reagan were in cahoots AND since JC was waiting for them to emerge from the chamber, maybe JC figured a way to get Reagan inside, you know, dropped her off. He figured Tex would find a way through the ruins and eventually meet up with her. Course, that still leaves an interesting detail (yes, I do like them, just not overmuch). How did Cross get her inside? Perhaps he lowered her on a rope and then pulled it back up.

Anyway, it is good to extrapolate on such "details" from time to time.

So THAT'S how you spell cahoots!

You see more than one tunnel on the ceiling so it looks like Regan found a different way in. Must not have been as difficult as Tex's though because I dont think Regan could figure it out. Just like Tex to get the short end of the stick.
If everyone else got dropped off why didn't they give Tex a lift? Hmmm!

Yep, I think Aaron mentioned in a chat once that she made her way in another way but I think it may have been mentioned in the novel too. I remember someone asking questions about why there weren't any footprints on the route Tex took.

Tex didn't get a lift because during their meeting in Tex's Rec Room, they (Fitzpatrick, Regan, and for some reason I can't think of the other guys name right now, and Tex) decided to all 4 of them go down there to look for it, going seperate paths to insure their chances of reaching the spacecraft first.

I suppose its just one of the details of the PI/client relationship: you pay the PI, so make him do all the dirty/hard work.

Then again, I hate to be redundant, but it's just a game. j/k

Fitzpatrick, Reagan and Elijah Witt. Witt's the one who says "Don't take the woman."

She didn't go through the Pyramid like Tex did... She went around and then fell into a vent shaft that was on an angle sloped just enough to not cause injury when she slid through and fell into the chamber...

Speaking of Witt, where was he at the end of the game??? He was suppose to have gone down there and taken a path himself...

Good question, Baf. Apparently he did not make or maybe he got there too late.
