Ah, they at the very least create discussion, at the worst are massive flame wars.
Here's a post that hit gaming blog Kotaku this morning...
http://kotaku.com/381799/games-with-the ... ories-ever
It's a list of the games with the best stories.
I only read the first page of comments, but threw my own opinion in for 'Pandora Directive' being on that list, and Gabriel Knight 3 replacing Gabriel Knight 1

I think it's awesome that Metal Gear made the Best spot... I've loved that game since NES...
I've never played it myself, but I know there are several people here who love it, Grim Fandango was 2nd Best Story Game...
Anyone know where I can get a copy of Grim Fandango and how to get it to run on XP??? All this hype about this game, I hadn't even heard of it until I came to this Message Board, but I certainly feel it's worth a run through...
I'm not a member of that board, so I couldn't comment on anything, but WTG on pitching Tex out there for the List... I would have done the same... *high 5*

It didn´t make the top spot, they mention that there is no order in these 15 games.
It´s obvious that Gabriel Knight is in there, even though it seems random that its GK1 , because they could haven putten GK2 and/ or 3 in there as well which were the most complex Gk Games storywise. But despite that of course each GK game deserves a place on that list.
But I really don´t know what games like GTA are doing in such a list.

Grim Fandango is really easy to find I think. I've actually got 2 copies, one 2nd-hand unboxed for like probably £1 or £2 or something and one boxed which you can get alot of places for less than £10. Try eBay or a 2nd-hand games store.
As far as I remember it doesn't need anything special to run on XP. It should run OK just by installing it and running it, but I suppose it may depend on your spec.
The only thing I came across as a problem on a newer computer was a bit where you have to jump off a conveyor belt at the right time. On a newer computer the game moves too fast for you to time it and you get stuck in an endless loop, but its a known glitch and after a Google I found a thread or two on it and they suggested to get a piece of software called cpukiller that slows down the speed of your processor temporarily whilst the software runs. Worked like a charm.
It was a good game and I would reccomend it. Its a bit slow in places but the overall style, humour and atmosphere is good.

It doesn't work well with Dosbox, or is it that Dosbox isn't needed???
I see that it's very popular and I've heard people here Rave about it... Believe it or not, I had never heard of it until coming to this message board...
There's a program out there to kill the speed of the Processor??? Interesting, it doesn't cause any problems??? You just use it when playing games that otherwise would run too fast???
Yeah I should have thought of eBay, I've suggested it enough... lol
