A big spotlight on Tex
My feature report about FMV Adventures is done. The reason why I´m telling you this is that Tex plays a HUGE role in those 9 pages. It´s in German and I know you can´t read it, but just have a look at the features´ embedded Screenshots and then tell me if this is a spotlight on Murphy or what.

It wasn´t consciously planned like that but thats how it turned out, since Tex was the star of that era beside Gabriel Knight and Phantasmagoria ( At least from my point of view)
Our site is pretty big and I would be so glad if some people that don´t know Tex ,read the article and will pick up the Tex games. ( Same thing goes for FMV games in general)
Despite that i stated out Access Software and Sierra as the by far most important companys for this subgenre.

Here's a site that can sort of translate it into broken english but it's readable enough to get the idea of what is being said.

Just copy and paste his link to the article:

and select German to English and you can pretty much read the article.

Thanks for that link Stu. I only read the beginning of the "english" version, and at times it seems as if a new language was invented for my article.
The translation of a lot of things is pretty bizarre, but I guess at times you can guess what I was originally talking about
It was 9 pages in word and it would take me a long time to properly translate that, in the next time I don´t have the time for it, but who knows maybe I´ll do it step by step somewhen in the future.

We understand... It's very kewl that you used Tex for a major part of it though...

Because of the different sentence structures in German and English, a word-for-word translation, like Babel Fish does is a little weird.
However, the German sentence structure is very much like the way Yoda (from Star Wars) talks. So, for English-speaking readers, it's not bad to just imagine Yoda speaking and it all seems pretty natural. Or should I say, "...and natural it seems."

The german sentence structure itself does not work in the Yoda way, but you´re absolutely right if you´re using a word by word translation it ends up being very Yodalike.DrPaul wrote:Because of the different sentence structures in German and English, a word-for-word translation, like Babel Fish does is a little weird.

Didn´t notice that before but it´s 100% true. You´d be a good P.I. Dr. Paul

That Just Isn't Right...
How can you do that to Master Yoda???

@ Bafitis
I kind of agree and I feel kind of guilty but I don´t know, there´s something pulling me over to the dark side more and more lately, damn where´s Obi Wan when I´m in trouble, wouldn´t it be up to him or his ghost to warn me of the dark side?
@ Stu
You´re right, even though french is probably a lot more complex than german.
But still I remember some folks in school enjoyed english more than german , because they didn´t have to pay attention to that many things in a grammatical sense, but still I always felt and still feel that english sounds a lot "catchier" than german and if someone would ask me which is the cooler language the answer would always be english.

Oh my god I can´t believe it. Obi wan Kenobi!!!
Now I feel even more ashamed of making fun of master Yoda!
But anyways , you came up at the right time buddy, ehm I´m sorry I mean Master Kenobi, please show me the way back to what is good and right. I feel like Anger started to overtake my feelings ,it all started when I saw this guy in the cinema, who drove me to the edge of madness and since then my life is a mess.

Can I just split him in 2 halfs with my Lightsabre Master Kenobi, can I????
Damned I guess that wasn´t a good start I guess I´ll have a lot of things to learn if ever want to be a true Jediknight.
