Anybody else here going to jump on the big Age of Conan thing next week?

It's made by a norwegian gaming company, is why I ask. They also made Anarchy Online and the very well-renowned adventure games The Longest Journey and it's sequel, Dreamfall.

Conan has a huge following over here. I guess it's our ancestry or something, I dunno

So. Anyone?

Looks good enough... I couldn't find a section that had the System Requirements, but I did notice that they only talked about DirectX 10, and since Vista is the only one using 10, am I right to assume this game isn't going to run on XP???

Oh, it'll run on XP all right. It's just the first MMO compatible with DirectX 10, hence if you want optimum graphics (which takes about... one half of Cubs new rig?) Then yes, you'll need Vista.

But it'll run on XP fine. I plan on using XP m'self. Did so during the beta, and that was well fun.

I'm planning a family vacation to Disney this fall, after that I'm looking into a Massive power system strictly for gaming use...

It does sound promising, but I'll be passing.

I find MMORPG's to generally be too much of a time sink, and I've had my fill of subscription based online only play.

The first 20 levels single player orientation sounds good though. The mature rating also sounds good to me, but it seems like the content MAY be more suited to a single player/networked game instead of an MMO.

I've tried it. I can honestly say it works. It's good, it's really really good. They did something right here. Can't put my finger on it, but... it's definately good.
