Of course, we have the big burger chains:
Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy's and Arby's
The submarine chains, Subway, Tubby's and Quizno's.
The smaller national chains
A&W and White Castle.
I NEVER go to McDonalds, at least not in last 30 years.
Rarely go to BK or Wendy's - but Wendy's has a nice salad bar.
I often get an Arby's carry-out when I go sailing.
I go to A&W most often, usually in the Summer, when I'm out cruising. A&W is one of those places where you order from your car and a girl comes out on roller skates to deliver your food on a window-tray. They also have extremely good and creamy draft root beer.
Then I like White Castle once in a while for some good sliders. Yummy!
All in all, I go to fast-food less than once a month, but a bit more in the summer.
OH! How could I forget Toco Bell? We have those, too. And Kentucky Fried Chicken.
There's probably a lot more that I can't remember right now.

I've moved to Lousiana from Pennslyvanaia, and we have everything everyone else does, but there are a few chains here that weren't popular where I used to live.
Chick-fil-A (slowly moving North. I love it!)
Church's Chicken (feh)
Raising Cane’s Chicken (pretty good)
Podnuh's (fast real BBQ. Nice.)
Sonic (it's too cold to run these way up north)
But my personal favorite is plain ol' Taco Bell.

McDonalds, Hungry Jacks (Burger King), Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC... the usual really.
But all of the above are rarities. Actually, I think last night was the first time I scoffed down a Hungry Jacks burger in over 6 months (was waiting in line for a Living End concert).
anyway, by far my favorite fast food joint is Jimminy's Burger bar, a couple of suburbs away from me. 50's style setup with some really awesome burgers and shakes!
In terms of eat in places though, there's a Japanese place in the City near to where I work called Pepper Lunch, and the food is awesome... I go there one or twice a week!

We have all the basics here. My favorite however is Taco Bell... by favorite I mean, the only one I can tolerate eating. I'll eat it every week to two weeks.

I do my best to avoid them when I can, but fast food is just one of those addictions I can't shake. I probably end up having them once I month, which I guess isn't bad. The favourite would certainly have to be McDonalds. I hate KFC with a passion. Chips too salty, chicken is horribly dry. Meanwhile the buns for their burgers taste like sponge cakes and the mayonaise is too sweet.
I used to be a Subway fanatic about 4 years ago, but I kind of got over it. Latest addiction: Krispy Cremes....mmmmmm dougnuts.

We have the basics around here... MacDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Popeyes Chicken, KFC...
I always have one really late night a week and I normally get Taco Bell on my way home...
Sub Shops we have Subway of course, Quiznos, Blimpy, and Sonic...
I would choose Subway over the others, provided they make the sub the way I ask...
Places that aren't so wide spread to my knowledge... We have Five Guys Burgers, needless to say they serve Burgers... Little Tavern, they are open 24-7 and have a wide range of foods, they are more famous for their mini-burgers by the bag full, but serve breakfast and cold sandwiches and whatnot... We use to have about a half a dozen or so around the areas, but I think we are down to only 2 left, maybe even just one... We have a few different Pit-Beef places and a few places that specialize in Wings... We have Pizza Delivery places out the rear around here as well...
Ice Cream shops... We have Dairy Queen, a couple of which also sell things like burgers and chicken nuggets now... We have a place called Cold Stone, they have Awesome Ice Cream and they always Sing if you leave a tip... Baskin-Robins, they've been around as long as I can remember, 31 Flavors, though they have many more now, but they were always know for their slogan of 31 Flavors... Friendly's is more of an Ice Cream Place than anything else, but they do have sit down service where you can eat food, kind of like Denny's...
I saw some one mention Japanese Restaurants... I Love those places... They cook the food right there in front of you on the grill... Tables seat about 10, the only problem with that is you end up sitting around the same grill with strangers sometimes, I don't really care for that... But a group of us normally go at least once a week...

Here in Arizona we also have Baja Fresh, Del Taco, Fuddruckers, and In-N-Out Burger.
Edit - I'm off to In-N-Out Burger now.

Hey Jcarnby,
I was wondering if YesterDave's is still there in Albuquerque. I think it was on Menaul near Eubank N.E. next to Gardunio's. I used to go there almost every day when I lived in ABQ.
Also, what about The Owl Cafe and the Route 66 Diner? The Owl was a very cool building, shaped like an owl. Inside, it had a big wrap-around counter with fountain service and counter-top juke-boxes. The Route 66 was sort of a small version of YesterDave's. Or I should say, YesterDave's was a big version of the Route 66.
I loved those places.

Don't have Twisters here, but we do have Fuddruckers... Never really ate there, so I didn't think to mention it... Didn't realize it was considered Fast Food, I thought they were a more of a Sit Down place... I've never seen one with a Drive Thru, so never gave them much though...

Fuddrucker's could go either way. You go to the line place your order and 5 minutes later your order is up.

I might be thinking of a different hamburger place though.

For the major chains its probably Taco Bell that I like the most. I won't eat at McDonalds anymore but I still like Burger King. Wendy's is good also. We have Dunkin Doughnuts up here I'm not to sure how far their reach is across the country.
Panera Bread is a favorite that's a lot healthier. Au Bon Pain is another good one as well. I have a lot of personally owned shops in my town so I end up probably eating at them the most. That is if I'm not in Boston commuting or on the road.
