or annoyed.
He doesn't have his facts straight, that's for sure. But it's some buzz. And it links directly from the scifi channel dot com home page.

Well, the fact he doesn't have his facts right (for starters, Pandora NOT being the last game in the series) turns me off. People need to have all the facts before they make an argument.
Still...the concept that George Lucas and company copied "a twelve year old video game"...that's a pretty heavy comment.

What a dumbass. You know, he probably has never played the games at all. He probably got the backstory from some kid intern who knows that series and then just googled the rest of the crap to fill in his story. Kinda like Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio, for those of you who listen to "The Herd". I really like his show a lot, he's got good insight on a lot of topics and very well rounded as far as sports in general, but you can tell sometimes when he his talking about something that he doesn't know much, that he got his staffers to round up a bunch of stats or quotes or whatever just so he doesn't sound like an idiot to the casual listener, not really anticipating that there is someone listening to him that knows a ton about what he is talking about and is just screaming at the radio "MY GOD YOU'RE AN IDIOT..YOU DON'T KNOW S@$T ABOUT THIS SUBJECT!!" Or maybe I'm just overreacting.

Well the fact of the matter is that he has not really done enough research to write a proper article, period. However, he has also written it in a fashion that leave the topic open for interpretation somewhat.
Now, the claim about Indy ripping of Tex Murphy was never more than a humorous observation by some of the members of this board... becuase as Aaron said (thus confirming what I stated) the whole story has been public domain for many years, and it was nothing more than an interesting kick for the Tex Murphy community to go and see Indy and experiencing a story very similar to that of Pandora.
Secondly, Aaron never made those comments off his own back, it was a reply to some of the comments by certain members who were, as I said; making a humorous observation, and wanted to know his thoughts.
Thirdly, comparing a technical walkthrough to lines of dialogue is a really odd move... I have not idea what he was trying to achieve with this?
Oh, and it's okay adnins... you can calm down. I'd hate to become one of those communities who become too elitist about their own subject matter, to the point where we shun people who have done nothing other than fail to properly research the topic. Did somebody say Trekkies?

Well, good. Now I at least have a link to link to when I try to explain the situation to other people. I was thinking about making an YTMND about the similarities, but I decided not to.
But this here kinda sucks:
Adventure games like Aaron Conners' and Chris Jones' Tex Murphy series, which they designed and in which Jones himself played Murphy, because back then, there was no way an actual actor was going to appear in a videogame.
I happen to think Chris is a fine actor himself

Oh yeah...CJ is an awesome actor. And since when are Kevin McCarthy, Barry Corbin, Tanya Roberts, Michael York (and many others) NOT considered REAL actors???

Uhmmmm, didn't we have people like Tanya Roberts and Barry Corbin in the Game??? If those aren't "Actual Actors", I'm not sure who qualifies...
The last game in the series was Pandora Directive.
REALLY??? Wow, that Overseer game I played was so much like the Tex Series, I often Confuse it with being part of the Series... Stupid Me...
Some people just want to be heard I guess... So they come up with some of the stupidest things to put out there and there are others who will read it...

Since people start writing articles on Tex that don´t even know these people were in there.
Seriously ,you can always make mistakes when you publish articles, thats human but I would deny to write an article while simply not knowing anything about the issue I´m writing about.

Whoa, whoa, whoa....those attack dogs are looking a little rabid.
It's buzz. No such thing as bad publicity right??
unless you're Brittney Spears

True point, it spreads the word about Tex and it also links them here, so if people find themselves interested in the game they can come here and get info and then end up playing it, spreading the word even farther...
Especially Indiana Jones Fans, that don't happen to know about the Tex Series, will probably jump at playing them...

Now there's a scary thought. What if Britney Spears were in a Tex game...
Would it be possible to kill her and still stay on the Mission Street Path???
....I kid, I kid. I'm sure growing up in the media spotlight like she has has already killed some part of her, in which she requires the attention she grabs to breathe. I just can't stand a lot of celebrity issues, they make me nauseous, and I already have my own life to think about.
Hmm...that was kinda off topic...
Maybe I should go have breakfast...

I think it's pretty cool regardless of proper research. You can't really expect everyone to know as much as us, the core fans of the game.

No, the task at hand would be to get a Photo of the "Goods"... Tho, that isn't really a hard task either... Maybe we would have to find her Hair and then the puzzle would be to piece it back on her head???
Then of course we kill her on the freeway in an auto accident that she caused while driving without a License... Because if we don't kill her in the Accident, the B;tch will just get off with a slap on the wrist...

Quite actually, Emily made me think of Britney when I saw her in her little plaid skirt coming up the stairs to her room.

Nah, Brittney doesn't Smile and Bounce quite that much any more... The scene you are talking about makes me think more of Paris than Brittney...
