Today, an article about me and my software appeared in a local IT publication, The Great Lakes IT Report. It's not a widely read publication, but it generated nearly 2,000 visitors to my website in less than ten hours.

The article is here:
http://www.wwj.com/Physicist-Creates-Ne ... em/2567344

There is an email-newsletter version in which it is the "Spotlight" feature, but it's not online yet (July 10), but it ought to be available on the right hand side tomorrow. It's basically the same thing, but with a screen shot.

Hey, Doc! Good job. I'm glad your product is getting a little attention. I enjoyed it, but my PC can't run it (or much else) right now, and I've been using a Mac.

As a businessman and scientist, Drallos was often frustrated by the limitations of the modern computer folder, sub-folder, sub-sub-folder model of storing and retrieving data from computers and networks.
Didn't realize you were so Frustrated Doc... Might I recommend a Massage or maybe a Vacation to a nice Spa Resort of some kind??? :D

I've emailed the page to a couple of people I know that might benefit from your work...

Yes. But can I get my "Tex Murphy" games to run on it? (Only kidding.)

Great for you. Success comes in many colors.

Congratulations.

Actually, you should see the "game shelf" in my virtual library. If you click on the book titled 'Pandora', then PD will start running. Click on the UAKM book and viola, you're playing UAKM.

My game shelf has books for at least a couple dozen games, all in one place.

I also have a book called 'TexMurphy'. When I open it, it launches my web browser and connects me to this board. I have similar books for other game boards and fan sites.

I know you can do all of this with bookmarks or by clicking icons, but the cool thing about the library is that all your game stuff - games, message boards, websites, walkthroughs,...anything to do with games, no matter where it actually is, can all be accessed from one place and is one click away.

So can you play Tex Murphy in it? Well, sort of. But you'll also need DosBox.

And thanks for all the comments and well-wishes, guys.

As far as being "frustrated", I think that was the reporter's word. But I'll take that massage anyway!

I think what you meant was, "Click on the UAKM book and UAKM, you're playing viola." Am I right? ;)

Card Catalog feature. Just when I thought it had gone extinct. Nice article, hope it springboards into a bunch of sales.

Or of course, the big corporate buyout. :D
