Writing this off my phone. Testing! Testing!
Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!

As far as I've seen, most japanese (in popular culture) answer their phones with "moshii moshii!"

They also use that phrase for people who seem zoned out. Like we say "Earth to Cub!"

Or, y'know. Some such.

Well moshii moshii is very informal phone manner, usually when answering a personal call. But you're right.

Hello, this is Uncle Fred... can I help you? (add 'ka' at the end of almost any sentence to turn it into a question).
