Fringe. Anyone watch it?

I just finished watching the pilot for the new JJ Abrams series, Fringe. From th episode I have seen so far, it is very X-Files influenced with elements of Medium. I really like it, I couldn't complain with the Pilot, while at times the acting was slightly off, it came through.

I love all of the original elements that have come into the show such as the 3D words appearing as a feature of the location they are on. For those who didn't see it, just say a character travels to New York, usually you'd either see a black screen with white text saying "New York" or have it written down the bottom in small print. Instead, with Fringe, the name of the location is incorporated into the scene itself in 3D letters, it's pretty fresh.

I also enjoyed the story too. It looks as though that each week will take an X-Files approach with a new case each week but with an underlying story running beneath the seams which will amount to the climax...presumably at the end of the season.

I hope this show does well, i'll be watching next week.
I loved it. Ditto on everything you said.

Unfortunately, it's on Tuesday nights while I teach my class. Fox reran the pilot on Sunday night, when I was able to see it. I hope they will continue to run the Tuesday episodes on Sundays.
I liked the pilot, but unfortunately I missed both the second episode and the season premier of House this week :(

I've caught pieces of it... The Previews looked good and I've wanted to watch, but I haven't really watched it...

Definitely this century's X-Files (some would call it a ripoff, but I prefer to think of it as an homage). This last one even had Darin Morgan helping out! They're definitely going for the gross-out factor and monster-of-the-week plus conspiracy threads of the X-Files. And the title sequence...

It's got some potential for entertainment, but I doubt it will be important per se, in the sense that the X-Files or Abrams's own Lost are. But I might well be wrong!
I like it, so far I'm keeping up with the episodes. Two out of two.
