Fallout 3!
Well, the title says it all... I am hooked.
I have never played any of the previous Fallout games, and never really like RPGs... but I enjoyed Oblivion a lot, and so I decided to give Fallout 3 a shot. After reading the rave reviews I must say I totally agree with all the praise. The game looks twice as good as oblivion from a graphics standpoint, yet it runs twice as good! the really optimised the engine well for this one.
The world is totally immersive and engaging. The graphics are spectacular, and the atmosphere oozes with style. Something so eerie about walking around in a post-apocalyptic wasteland reminiscent of a Mad Max film, and hearing 40's and 50's music playing over the radio.
Anyway, its early days for me (I am only a level 3 or 20), but I plan on playing more and more. I've probably only explored 1/16th of the world so there's work to do.
Needless to say, this is the game I will be hooked on for a decent period of time.
Anyone else got it?

I do. But I'm not treating it as an rpg at all (Because Bethesda can't make roleplaying games at all it seems), but instead as an action adventure. And as such it's a fairly decent game.
I'm at level 14, m'self.
Also, Cub? I'm telling you now so you'll skip a whole bunch of aggravation. If you run across any Nuka-Cola Quantum? Pick it up, take it with you, save'em.
Just do it. You'll thank me later.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
I was wondering if it was a good as it looked. I'm going have to check this one out. Never played the first two, but I did like Oblivion.
A sansGUI interface is one that does not have the small features called "Windows". The term comes from the French word sans, meaning "without".
SansGUI's are more typically used in Unix-like Operating Systems. The conventional wisdom is that a GUI (Grapical User Interface) help guide the casual computer user to perform routine tasks with Point and Click simplicity. SansGUI's have acquired considerable acceptance for users accustomed to the CLI (Command Line Interface).

Well, from what I've heard the PC and Xbox versions are very close to one another. But the PS3 version is way behind in terms of graphical quality, and is a bit buggy. I always go PC becuase you can always improve the graphics as the technology advances, but with consoles you are limited in that regard. Either way, you should get a solid experience with either PC or XBOX.Bafitis wrote:So which Console is suggested for the best experience, PS3, Xbox, PC???

I don't understand the argument that it's not an RPG. It's far more a RPG than Oblivion. Your stats most definitely matter in the game.
My problems with the game are mostly in design. I find it annoying that the city is broken up into sections that force you into a dungeon to get to another section of the city. I find the concrete barriers amusing. What would the odds be of a city's buildings falling like that?
As an RPG I like it more than Fable 2 just because it's a much longer experience. It's worth the $60.
I'm getting Left 4 Dead this week, which is where I'm likely to spend my time. I like killing Zombies.

With good reason my russian friend, the Russian version shipped with StarForce DRM, best give it a miss if I were you.
Presently playing the game, Solid gameplay but overall poorly presented and poorly QAed since low and mid end systems are reporting mass crashing. Like mine.
If I were to rate it, right now I'd give it a 7. I went into the game thinking it would suck, but its actually more solid than I thought.. its not fallout but its ok as a stand alone game. Thank god its not Oblivion
Anyway I'm getting ready to do a massive write up on the game if I can.

Claiming Oblivion surpasses Fallout as a roleplaying game is blasphemy and should be punishable by photon deathray.
