This is getting annoying...

My computer's audio drivers have a weird habit of disappearing!! Can anybody tell me why I, frequently, have to reinstall missing drivers? Why would my computer reject them, like a non-compatible donor-organ?

Could be a conflict with sound card VS on board audio.

Can't be, the RealTek soundcard is onboard.

What version of Windows are you running, and what is your motherboard model?

DL and run this: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php ...and navigate to the Mainboard tab and post all the details here. Or take a screen grab.

Okay Fred...

Try this, IN ORDER:

1. Download this file: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func ... &type=bios

2. Extract the zip file and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS of the included Word doc. You can probably ignore the part about checking the model number as I have already done it for you, but double check just in case.

3. You are going to flash your BIOS with the included software and these instructions. Failure to flash correctly will render your Motherboard useless... but don't panic, these rarely go wrong if you take the time to do it properly.

4. Once you have flashed/updated your bios (v.1.10 instead of your current v1.3) go back into Windows.

5. DL This Audi Driver for your onboard audio: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func ... o=2423&i=1

6. Uninstall your existing sound drivers.

7. Install the new ones

8. Run Microsoft Updated via Internet Explorer (not any other browser), and check for other updates to the sound driver. If there is one there after installing the new ones, ignore it. Only put these other ones on if the above ones still give you problems.

9. Good luck and have fun!

Flashing bios is one of the scariest thing a person can do to their computer :\ I don't envy you Fred.

I think I managed to get it stablizied by my own self. Without flashing my bios. It was a directx sound thingy, I just jiggled the handle and *....fffflush*

Now I just hope it'll stay stable!

No offense Cub, but I wanted to try every possible thing I could think of before trying to flash my bios. It's kind of a last ditch option for me, having lost two motherboards to attempted flashing in the past.

I surely do appreciate the help and effort and expended calories, however! :D

Thank you!
