Marlowe

Well, you know the old saying? "Read the fine print"? I went to Ebay to bid on a Marlowe DVD (James Garner version), won the bid, received the DVD and....it doesn't play on US players. Apparently the small print said it works only in Australia or Europe (Region 2). So, if any of you who reside in those areas are interested in a great - GREAT - Marlowe movie, send me a PM and we can work out something.

BTW, this was James Garner at his best and this movie is at least 3 stars (out of four). Among the the supporting actors are Rita Moreno and Bruce Lee.
"If you look to me for illumination, you better have a flashlight!"
Yeah that was some of Garner's best stuff... A Classic indeed... Some of his other best stuff was when he did the show Maverick... The movie was funny, but the show rocked...

Sorry to hear you gotten taken by a lousy eBayer...

If you have a DVD player on the PC, chances are it's a multi-region player. The same happened to me on Amazon, from a private seller.

The only lousy thing is you only have a fixed amount of times you can change the region of your DVD player, so you can't do it that often. That's how mine works anyway.

As for the movie, tis a good one indeed.

Jim,

Almost every DVD player made has a bypass for region codes you can program into it. Don't get rid of it, it will work... you just need to tell me the model number of your DVD player and I will find the workaround for you.

That's because the first time he watched it he got pissed and hit it with his staff/cane...
But he knows you can fix it Cub...
