2009 is getting closer :)

Hello all!

Well, another year is coming to an end very soon and it's time to sum it the year that passed by and take a look at the following year to come.

For me - I must say that I have had a tremendous year of 2008. I started a new job back in March closer to where I live which also put a bit more dough in my pocket each month :) I don't complain about that of course - that's just superb :) Other than that, my girlfriend and I got engaged in May and we also had an incredible holiday in Prague, Czech Republic in August. Our relationship just keeps getting better and better, so I'm truly a happy guy.

Thinking about the year 2009 gives me a huge smile on my face. It will be a year full of exciting events for my fiancée and myself. These are as follows:

1. Only a week ago we put our signatures on a purchase agreement for a nice cosy house in the city where I work, so I will not have far to work from now on. We will be able to clean, paint and put furniture into the new house during January but we have to wait until March to actually start living there. Reason for this is described in no. 2.

2. Starting February 3rd we will be taking a 1 month holiday to Australia returning to Denmark on March 4th. I'm SOOO much looking forward to this, as I've never been to Australia and it's been a dream of mine for a long time. We will be doing some travelling around Australia during our time there getting to see both Sydney, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Red Centre (with Ayer's Rock among others) and Cairns (Great Barrier Reef), so I think we will get to see a lot of the essentials of Australia when we're there.

3. On August 15th, 2009 my fiancee and I will be getting married. The wedding will take place in the garden of my mother-in-law, so she has really started to prepare the garden for the event. She has even asked us what kind of colours we would want for the wedding, so she could plant flowers that can match these colours. Now that's a bit wicked but also kinda cute :)

I think it's safe to say that the year 2009 will most probably be a year, I won't ever forget. And if my fiancée could get pregnant within the next few months ... well, that would really make it the best year ever for me.

What about you guys? How has it been for you in 2008 and how does 2009 look for you so far?

I'd say 2008 was the best year of my life. Perhaps odd to say since it is the year I had cancer, but even at the time I didn't think about it too much.

The reason it was the best year is for two very simple reasons. One, I am out of the relationship the was destroying me. And two, my spiritual growth that has set proper priorities in my life, and has truly blessed me with untold amounts of joy.

I'm hoping for 2009 to be more of the same!

Ah Cutthroat Bill. I remember leaving the jawbreaker in his mouth for minutes seeing if he'd choke to death and nothing happened. Even the Quartet was oblivious.
Netroam, congrats on your coming Marriage, may your years together be blessed...

As for 2008, it was about a normal year for me... Nothing too special to write home about... I did have those medical problems in September and October, but it was life altering in a good way so I should be able to avoid any further problems of the same nature... Other than that nothing was too off the scale...

2008 however for Celeb Deaths has been tragic and with all the seniors we have in the industry I don't see the next few years being much kinder, though I certainly hope they are...

My congratulations to everyone who had a good year, may the next be even better for you and your family...
And for those who had a soso year {or those unfortunate to have had a bad year}, I wish you better fortune for the year to come...

I suppose 2008 was alright. I got my associates degree, completed one out of four semesters towards my bachelors. I think I wrote about eight chapters of my book this year, possibly nine if I can finish chapter eleven before the years end. I'm still hopelessly single, but I didn't expect a change there.

In 2009, I expect to get my B.A. in English, and with any luck finish my book. That's about it.

2008 has been a pretty increadible year for me too and has ben the ideal setup for 2009. I've just had a lot of success this year. University is going well, work has been good, my family are in good health and i've lost some weight.

It's also been a really awesome year for music, film and gaming releases too. Some highlights for me:

- The long awaited Guns n Roses album
- Metallica's Death Magnetic
- New albums from Oasis, REM, Nick Cave, The Verve, ACDC, Paul McCartney and Coldplay.
- Quantum of Solace, Indiana Jones, plus, The Dark Knight (one of my favourite films of all time)
- Doctor Who was at his best this year

And just to finish, I have been invited by my University to do Fourth Year Honours in Media Studies in 2009. Unfortunately, it does extend my Arts/Law degree by 1 year, but i'll have more qualifications for it. But i'm still looking forward to it.

Bring 2009 on!
