Tex Murphy Play through.
I submit that we should all set a date to start playing through Under A Killing Moon, Pandora Directive, and Overseer. After we have started one we can set it to where everyone does one day each week in the given game we are playing. In that week we can discuss what we found interesting about that day.
I guess it would take 21 weeks or so to get through them all, with breaks in between. So how bout it guys and gals, anyone interested?

Well, we would need to set up some kind of emergency fix my tex thread to work out everyones problems. And if a tex day a week is too much for people then we can extend it to two weeks, or whatever people need.

Not sure if I could stick to that One Day A Week thing... I would just want to keep going... Once you find time for a game, you can't be sure the next time you'll have the time so you want to do as much as possible on that given time period...
It would certainly be fun either way...

I'd be in. But I don't own a copy of Pandora. And neither Under a Killing Moon or Overseer will work on my computer. Also my dvd drive is broken. And my cd drive is broken.

Do you have an Open USB Port??? If so, talk to DrPaul, he can hook you up with UAKM on a Flash Drive... And if you want, you can tell him that I'm willing to give you a copy of Pandora and he can go ahead and put Pandora on there as well...Vracar wrote:I'd be in. But I don't own a copy of Pandora. As for Overseer, has a way been figured out to make it run almost flawlessly on the Modern Computers??? I haven't tried, but I've seen a lot of people complain about problems with it... If we can get it to run smoothly, then by all means include it in the playoff, but if not, we may have to limit it to just the 2 games...

I'm sorry that I haven't yet posted instructions for how to make your own PD and UAKM flash drives. I've been kind of overwhelmed with teaching. They've got me teaching both Physics and Astronomy now and all of my time get soaked up preparing for the classes.
Whenever I get a break, I have a ton of things I put aside to catch up on. I guess I'll have to include the flash drive instructions as one of those priorities to get done, next break I get.

Wow, that's something... I'm sure that is time consuming... You're a walking Encyclopedia, aren't you Doc???DrPaul wrote:They've got me teaching both Physics and Astronomy now
It takes a special kind of person to be a good teacher... I considered teaching at one point, but I just don't think I'd have the patience for it... I'd end up with that one Village Idiot and I would just lose it...
Congrats, I hope it doesn't weigh you down too much...
I'm sorry Doc, that I assumed you'd be able to do the flash drive, it was careless of me to offer your time like that... My Sincerest Apologies...
Everything on the Flash Drive and whatnot are pretty much standard, right Doc??? Could I just make a copy of the Flash Drive you did for me and then change the CD Drive Letter in the Config file to match Vracer's??? Would it work doing that???

I think you misunderstand. I can still make the flash drives for anyone. They only take me about twenty minutes, and the whole process is semi-automatic because I basically just copy the files and edit the drive letters.
The thing that I haven't been able to find time for is to carefully write down all of the instructions so that you guys can build these things from scratch. I know it doesn't seem like that should take much effort, but something like that has to be very clear, complete and error free or else it will just cause trouble.
So I've got to try to find the time to write it all down, then test it by following my own instructions - to the letter - to make sure it works. Then I can post it.
I'll try to do that soon. Meanwhile, I'm still happy and available to make them for anyone. Also, anyone that already has a flash copy can simply copy the files to make another set.
And, yes Baf. You're right. You can just copy the files and edit the drive letters. I would just advise that, because the directories are so large, the computer may freeze while copying them. So I do the folder-by-folder. Seems to be a little more reliable.

Whether I misunderstood or not, it was still thoughtless of me to offer your time like I did... I know you said you loved doing it back when you did mine and a few others, but that doesn't give me the right to assume you're able to do it at the drop of a hat...
But apparently there was no harm done, so all is good...
