Unofficial Tex Murphy

Hi there,

Long time lurker-first time poster here. Im looking for a hand with the installation of Overseer on XP. I've had a look at what seems to be the universal guide here: http://www.fourthlaw.com/2007/03/26/tex ... all-guide/ but I get stuck at the "windows compatibility" stage. I select windows 95 and apply, then I try to execute the setup but nothing happens.
I see that its running in Task Manager, but thats it.

As an aside, I followed the brilliant guide on the same blog for the Pandora Directive, which I completed last week.

Im itching for more Tex and would greatly appreciate any support! Thanks.

Overseer has some issues on newer computers... I'm not sure if anyone has figured out a flawless operation guide for installing Overseer yet... And since Overseer was designed for a Windows Base, Dosbox doesn't work like it does for the other games...

Here is a website that might help... Nilo has already installed any patches into the files you'll need to download... Still, can't promise it will work flawlessly, so make sure you save often if you get it working...

Thanks for the info. Glad to see there is a cult following for the series.


Unfortunately I'm still stuck with the error I listed above. It looks like no one else has had the problem, so I'll just have to stick at it.

Win98 was better for Overseer than 95, have you tried making the Compatibility 98 instead of 95???

For some bizarre reason it decided to install. Ive no idea why but at least I can follow the guide now.

Enjoy it... By most Pandora is considered the best out of the series, but through the Glitches and whatnot Overseer is still a good game...
