Aw, come on now, really?

Capital punishment? Trophy wives? Cat abusers? Good lord, why don't we get into Rowe vs Wade and the right to die next?
Most of me says to just shut up and not say anything, but WTF, what can I lose? I've always considered this a haven from the outside world, where any of us could shoot the breeze with the friends made here over the years. A place where we shared our unique experiences, our normal days, some fun stuff, and our love of Tex.
If the board has moved on from that, so be it.
If hot button topics are all the rage now, well, I'm sorry, cause that sucks.

I'm inclined to agree... the topics seem to be getting heavier by the day - maybe James could create a "Depression" forum for those topics and leave this one for the cheery lighthearted ones

I'll have to throw my allegiance this way too. I'm all for freedom of speech and all, but I don't come here to discuss politics or religion. I come here for people who likes their light entertainment, likes their fun, and likes their Tex.
That said, I know I have a penchant for throwing in my two cents regardless of consequence. I know. I'm hard to shut up.
But Jen's right. This used to be a haven from the outside world. A hamlet of tranquility in a mass of communication, information and aggravation.
To put it simply - This is my Shire
And I'm all for protecting it!

Now that you mention it, we are long overdue for an endless religious debate. I cannot stand this neutrality anymore! You will have to pick your sides, folks. I was thinking about how fun the crusades must've been the other night. We should really bring this back into fashion.
Oh and btw, I think Australia and New Zealand should be annexed. It's just too damn complicated for us not living at the end of the world to figure out the difference, as if there was one anyway.
Have I mentioned this new prophecy I've heard lately? It speaks of armageddon popes and astral doomsday. I hear the monks are involved, somehow.
I'll just go right ahead and mention what's been on everybody's minds for years. The Nazis, they were really fashionable.
Alright, I think I'm done for about a year.
No wait...here it comes...something brooming again, about a one-world-government conspiracy. The Brits are planning to rebuild the Empire...
Ah never mind it's gone.

I guess it's a sign of the times - I've not read any of those threads. I learned ages ago that politics amongst friends here never ends well.
Now comedy - that I'm all for.

all politics through the right lens is comedic
But you realise Jen that through your posting we're all going to have to pick a side whether or not we agree with you... and CHAOS WILL ENSUE!
I'd sit on the fence but it's chain link, and i like the functioning use of my butt.

I made a nice Chicken Parmigiana the other night. I might post the recipe sometime soon, it's very simple.

If no one gets angry what does it matter that we know what another person thinks about serious issues?

I've seen people's feathers get ruffled just as easily over what would be considered "Light-Hearted" topics as they have over "Serious" topics...
When having a discussion with more than 1 person about anything {not just something serious}, you run the risk of someone becoming unhappy with the way the discussion goes...
Even 1 person can get upset, I've seen people argue with themselves and become quite irate over whatever it was they were debating with their self about...

I know this will shake the very foundations of your most profound beliefs, but...
Any Mac & Cheese recipe reaches a whole new level if you throw in some Dijon mustard in the cheese sauce.

It's not just these boards. General malaise is everywhere. Not enough money, not enough work, lacking relationships, the world's in decay, the government's acting nuts, the rich are in charge, the air is poisonous... I guess more people's lives are starting to feel like... like...
Tex's!!!
Well now I feel a little better!

Throw in little square pieces of ham, you know the kind you find in salads, that really makes a Mac-n-Cheese dish... I prefer the Shells over the Elbow noodles myself...

Don't forget to add some green chiles.

Well now we can just wait for the purists to storm the gate! What have we done?!

Ah, yes! Debatable subjects - the bane of any message board. If you wish to sever close relationships, abandon melded friendships and cause an outright general international meltdown, just begin to discuss things like, oh, you know, religion, politics and things of such a nature as Jen mentioned.
Me? I'm in for the sharing of good recipes or a new Tex fan-fic (reading yours Jen and so far so good).
