Alright, so in my currently laid off status I have no way of purchasing anything unnecessary to survival right now. However I keep a Tim Hortons cup full of pocket change just for such an event. Anyway, counting my pesos I discovered that I had $25; enough to pay for 3 Cards online. I ran to the convenience store across the street and picked up one of those pre-paid Visa's ($25) and tried to purchase the game. I put in all the information they needed and clicked buy . . . card declined. So I figured okay it must want my Paypal account directly. I added the card . . . nothing.
Confused I went back to the site to check the balance on the card and apparently Paypal charged $1.19 TWICE on my card now making the purchase of 3 Cards impossible (it's approximately $23.80 in CDN funds on a $25 card.) So I called up Paypal (luckily I have free long distance and a ton of free international minutes) and they said that they'd reverse the charges for me. Awesome, at least I won't be losing that cash and can buy the game but I have to wait 24 long hours to HOPEFULLY purchase the game again without problems. I'll keep everyone posted whether I have success or not tomorrow, but I thought I should share the experience here. Oh when talking to Paypal they said I should have waited 24 hours after activating the card to purchase it anyway. So a heads up to anyone else in a similar situation.

Sorry to hear you are pinching pennies... I know it sucks... But that Rainy Day Jar thing is a great idea... My father use to have one, I seem to always remember him emptying it to order for pizza... lol

Well the show is still a go, I am doing as much as I can while I can. The beauty of owning your own professional gear is that you don't have to rent it, so I always have access to it. The short answer to your question would be, my focus is split right now. I'm trying to clean it up though. My 2 priorities right now are completing my TV pilot and starting my web page. I have nothing there yet otherwise I'd pimp it out but those 2 things I am hoping to complete by the fall and have them making me some cash. In the meantime it's my usual temporary McJob. My contract is up for renewal in June so I'm keeping the fingers crossed.

Well the Paypal people didn't return the charge so I ended up having to accept Jen's generous gift (thank you again!) and I have been playing 3 Cards in my spare time. I have to admit I love it. In regards to the VISA I have a feeling they can't back charge to the pre-paid ones. I think it's a one time only thing. So anyone attempting anything similar be aware, they're good but have complications. I use them all the time for online purchases but this is the first time I ran into issues.
