now I have seen the last espisode of season 5, i am keen to talk about for all the lost fans here.
who do you think was lock if he is actually dead. (the black smoke)
jacob came in contact with everyone before the flight & also after, so the incident had no effect on why they landed on the island.

I don't think Locke is actually dead. At least not all of him.

after burning the last 2 episodes to divx & watching again I answered my own question. Lock is dead & the guy that was talking to jacob on the beach , he wanted to kill jacob & he said he would have to find a loop hole.
when lock first went into the statue jacob said "I see you have found your loop hole"
jacob dressed in a white shirt & the other guy in a black one.

My hunch: Jacob is bad, the black shirt guy (many call him Esau) is good (more or less), flipping the black/white thing on its head (remember Locke and the backgammon game in one of the first episodes?).
Locke is still "in there" in a way; Esau Locke (the black shirt guy in Locke's body) was aware of Locke's thoughts and history. Also, the book Jacob was reading was Flannery O'Connor's Everything that Rises Must Converge, a pretty clear description of John Locke, who rose from the dead and so converged (was not replaced). What that means for Locke in the next season? Your guess is as good as mine. But John Locke better be "back" in some significant sense. I'm just sayin'.

yeah but black never indicates good.
The guy with alana (carrying the box with lock's body. Isn't he the same guy in the van that told miles not to go to the island .

Granted, black is not usually good, but with this show...nothing "usual" is typical.
Yes, Ilana's associate (Bram) was in the van that picked up Miles on the mainland.
