The game you're looking forward to the most!

Aside from any Tex Murphy game that may be upcoming, and is, I'm sure on the top of all of our lists of games we MUST buy, what is that one killer app coming down the pike that you know you're gonna have to put life on hold for?

Mine personally, is this new Star Wars MMO, The Old Republic. I've been checking it out, and the trailer is by far one of the coolest trailers I have ever seen for anything ever.

You can't tell me that doesn't give you goosebumps.

Diablo 3, Heavy Rain, Modern Warfare 2 and Red Dead Redemption. Off the top of my head.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Well I'll Be, Mr. Thomas Malloy, good to see you posting again... It's been awhile...

Game I'm looking forward to the most would be Heavy Rain and God Of War III and Metal Gear 5...
The Paved Straight Road, Won't Always Get You Farther Than The Winding Dirt Road...

Hiya Bafitis! Oooh Metal Gear 5 .. that was one I didn't think of right off. I also was at work thinking about it and I wanted to add Huxley to the list.

I'm a MMO man, I love gaming with other folks, and the idea of a FPS mmo that doesn't suck sounds like heaven to me. (Okay it can be argued that the European Battlegrounds World War game was the first fps mmo, but I swear, it is NOT fun to run around and see nothing for an hour then get sniped by someone you didn't see. That game has some serious size issues.)

I know I said it before, and it got a few yucks, but I mean comon, seriously ... Tex Murphy Online. It'd be like Modus Operandi with graphics!

We had a discussion about a Multi-Player P.I. game a few months back... People were interested, but the layout and interface was a problem we couldn't seem to figure out...

As for MMO, I'm not that big of a fan of it... I do it from time to time, but some people make it their life and it just ruins it for me when people get like that... And then there are the Hackers you have to worry about and those who find glitches and exploit them instead of report them... It just becomes too much of a hassle...

Now when I use to play Unreal online, I usually played with a group of people that I worked with, so we knew no one was hacking or cheating...

Oh yeah, and Mafia II. Looks like it could be a lot of fun!

Max Payne 3.

The Star Wars MMO does look cool, but it's probably going to be a little while on that. I'm also keeping an eye out for:

Heavy Rain
Mafia 2
Alan Wake
No More Heroes 2
The Conduit
Bayonetta (it's probably just the perv in me that's interested in this)
Call of Juarez 2 (the first one had significant problems related to boredom, but the second one looks like it'll fix the issues)
Halo 3: ODST
Halo: Reach
Metal Gear Solid: Rising
The Beyond Good and Evil sequel that they are supposedly working on and only released one friggin' trailer that's funny but tells you nothing.
Assassin's Creed 2
Crackdown 2
A.P.B.
Wet

Maybe I should just stop now.

I'm still waiting for that Star Trek game to come online... They sure are taking their good old time...

I'm not sure if it's already out or not, if it is I haven't gotten a chance to get it yet, but there is a game I remember seeing commercials for called "Prototype", looked really good...

In no Particular Order.... except the first 3

Diablo III
Star Craft II
God of War III
Deus Ex III
Max Payne III
Bioshock II
Dante's Inferno
Gray Matter
Culpa Innata 2 Chaos Rising
and Dark Star (this game has been in the works forever) http://www.darkstar.gs/

Anyone play World of Goo??? what a fun game!!!
Matt
I can't get anywhere near as excited for Max Payne 3 as I did for the other two. The noir elements just looks completely absent. Looks more like a third version of Farcry. I just can't see it so far, we'll see.

As for me:

- Mafia 2 (dying for it)

- Bioshock 2

- Ghostbusters

- Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (my expectations are pretty low but i'll try it)

- Heavy Rain

- L.A Noire

- Batman: Arkham Asylum

Dues Ex III?!? Wow, I didn't know about that one. I loved the first two, and thought that although they were good games, their potential of what they COULD be with the system used in the game is insane. I can say that game will be on my radar too now :-)

Gray Matter for sure, the german release is scheduled for october and i don´t know if that´ll work but a new Jane Jensen game is like the coolest thing since GK3 to me and the sort of stuff, interactive dreams are made of ( despite anything that has to do with Access/Big Finish/Tex of course  ) Jane is simply the greatest writer i´ve seen in adventure games throughout all the years (followed by Mister AC).

No comparism to my craving for Gray Matter but still something i´m currently looking forward to:The Blackwell Convergence, the third part of the Blackwell-mini-series by Dave Gilbert, set for release at the end of this month, should be great once again. Also waiting for the 3.rd episode of Casebook "Snake in the Grass". The series has evolved so much from the first to the second episode (in terms of plot and tension, the technology was fascinating right from the beginning of course ) and i really became a fan after playing episode 2 : The Watcher.

And what can you say about Heavy Rain, of course. Just looks too good to be true. I don´t have a PS3 and i actually don´t want one, but i´m sure i´ll figure out something, as i want to play this game right after the release in early 2010 (hopefully).

And then there´s Max Payne 3 and Alan Wake of course.
The Max Payne games are my alltime favorites in terms of non-adventures, so i´m heavily anticapiting these two games.

Quite some stuff to look forward to. :)
Yes, Gray Matter will be great to see, hopefully it gets released this time and doesn't have any more problems...

I just read a long preview for Max Payne 3 and...

It's made by a different company. Instead of Remedy and 3d Realms it's just Rockstar.
Max looks different.
They're hiring a different voice actor.
Max is not in New York, instead he's in San Paulo, Brazil.

*shrugs* Hopefully I'll still be able to shoot people in slow motion.

I was anticipating Max Payne 3 after I heard about it.

Didn't hear much... just knew it was announced. After what you guys said... I looked up a bit more on it cause apparently there was new info released I wasn't aware about.

Now I am a bit iffy. I am sure it will be a decent game... but is definitely not what I was expecting.

San Paolo though??? They are trying to reinvent the character.... I don't understand why people try to fix what ain't broke.
