For those of you who own a console, if you even remotely like Batman, get the new Batman game.
It's awesome in a can.
And Mark Hamill still voices the Joker!

I've seen and heard good things about this. It's meant to be the best Batman game to date due to its cast, faithfulness to the comic, visuals and of course gameplay. I'm currently playing through Bioshock again to get the alternate ending so i'll pick this one up while i'm done. Is the action mainly stealth or can you go in all blazing?

Fists blazing, if that's your choice. Or stealth about and strike from the shadows. Either way is good.
I find myself loving all the references to (and even a whole heap of cameos of!) old Batman enemies. While you don't fight all of them (or even see all of them) you get the feeling they're all there. There was even a display case in an office with the Scarface puppet in it!
Gameplay is amazingly fluent, the cast is superb, the plot is excellent and it follows the ancient gaming formula of rewarding the player with cool cutscenes from time to time!
Also, it's not one of those games where you go "It was good, but it was too short!".
The people who made this game are definitely headed for game of the year!

I have to agree Fred. I picked this up with a PS3 slim last week and i have been having a blast. The pacing, the voice cast, the writing, all the Riddler secrets, it's just an amazingly well put together game.

What do you mean all New PS3s??? I thought the fatter PS3 played PS2 games and all you needed to play PS One games was to download a patch or something...

Only the original release PS3s had backwards compatibility. When people complained about the price the two things Sony removed were some USB ports and backwards compatibility with the PS2 (though i have my suspicions it was more to do with the fact the PS2 was still selling like gangbusters). Nevertheless, the omission of this and Sony's arrogant stance on it is a huge black mark against an otherwise awesome console.

Welp, finished it two nights ago (been busy with Riddler stuff so forgot to post). By and large, strong contender for Game of the Year i think. The last hour or two was a wild ride as well. I wholeheartedly recommend this game

I played the new Batman demo on XBOX 360 live and I really loved it, also having Mark Hamil doing the Jokers voice in the game is pure awesome.
