Way To Go Fred, and other Norway residents...

And the best country to live in is --- Norway tops U.N. quality-of-life list; U.S. is 13th, while Niger finishes last...

Any houses for sale in your neighborhood Fred??? :D
I don't require much, 3-4 bedroom, 2-story w/basement, 2 car garage preferred, decent size yard, spacious kitchen, at least 2 baths, that should about do it...

Should run you about... $800.000-ish methinks.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
That's probably doable, but I'd have to wait at least 7 years for my son to turn 18... Due to the Divorce I'm not allowed to move out of state because of custody/visitation issues...

800K, that's a bit steep for what I described though... 4 Bedroom here only runs around 300K to 400K, depending on what part of the country you're in... In some parts they're even as low as 200K...

Well I guess you pay for quality of living as well, which is why Norway is rated # 1...
Gonna have to put Norway on my list of Vacation Visits... Any recommended sites???

Down here in old Virginia you can get a 4 bedroom house for 20,000 if you know where to look.

Yeah I know, it's like that in Detroit too... And Vegas from what I heard on a recent news report... We're not talking rundown houses either, these are some nice places for the most part... Once my Divorce is final I might look into buying a couple... Either rent them out or sit on 'em until things turn around...

Around the Sydney metro area (where I used to live, or should I say rent), the region average is $1,942,500 ($1,722,605 USD) for 3 bedroom places. Where I live now though, its a bit better with the region average being $663,000 AUD ($588,441 USD).

Run away now!!

HOLY CRAP THAT IS EXPENSIVE!!!!!!

I was actually thinking of buying a few houses and just sitting on them for a while too.

But I don't have the money...... =(

It sucks, because I feel like it's an opportunity slipping through my fingers to make $1 000 000 in only a few years.

That's okay I don't need to be near the City, I love it out in the country and remote areas... 600K would be doable... Moving all my junk over there, now that's another story... Anyone know what the going rate for a Cargo Ship is now a days??? lol

Yeah money has gotten a little tighter thanks to the Divorce, but I've still got my eye fixed on at least one house in Vegas... I know so many people that go there often enough, that instead of them wasting money on the Hotels there, they can give me half of what they would pay at a hotel and have a house all to themselves...

You just gotta be careful who you allow in that house.

They could destroy that house. Best checks are a credit, find out where they work and a criminal if you can.

Usually if those come up safe, you are good.

I'm not talking about throwing an Ad out in the paper...
I'm talking about people I know on a personal level... They wouldn't even think of doing something like that...

Well that's good. Don't sit too long though. The market is about to soon change.

Man, i remember hearing that Sydney was one of the most expensive cities to live in, but those prices are ridiculous :)
I gots a webcomic! http://yetanothercomic.com
Does everyone have a ridiculous salary to accommodate housing prices??

How does anyone buy a house without a huge salary?

That question right there is the reason we are where we are in the Economy... At least that is the main reason here in the States, the Housing Bubble... Banks and Brokers kept putting people who couldn't afford it into houses they couldn't afford until it just blowup in everyone's face... Instead of telling the people "NO", they manipulated the paper work to make it seem like they could afford those loans and mortgages...
