Just finished Battlestar Galactica

Ever since the mini (or as I like to call it, the three hour epic), i've been following this series on DVD one episode per week. Last night, I finally completed the series with the two parter of Daybreak. WOW. What a journey it has been!

For the most part, I felt that the finale was handled really well. The only "weak" spot was maybe the aftermath of the battle was stretched out a little too much, but even then seeing the resolution of the characters was compelling. In terms of sci-fi, from the show's i've seen, I haven't really been too satisfied with a series finale since TNG's All Good Things.

With Daybreak, the show didn't end too suddenly, there was some closure, plenty of action and a nice surprise twist in the end with a quick cameo by RDM. I especially enjoyed the humourous bit of dialogue:

Dr. Cottle: i've checked their DNA, it's compatible with theirs

Dr. Batlar: we should begin breeding

Adama: you have a one track mind, Doctor

I've glad that after all of the darkness in the series, we finalyl got to see some hope and light. Those dreary, sombre last few weeks have really paid off.

Overall, I think my favourite season will always be Season 1 as this is when the crew (with the exception of the second half of this season) was truly "together". My least favourite would have to be Season 3.

A terrific series which I will no doubt revisit. Where to next? Can anyone recommend Lost?

I read the summary of it, it sounds good... I've never seen it on any channel though... Has it aired it in the states???
I see it only ran for 21 Episodes... I haven't looked for it yet, but I'm assuming it's available on DVD???

Firefly, Doctor Who and Farscape are other awesome sci-fi shows I can personally recommend.

Other shows I love include Deadwood, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Rome and Dexter.

That show Charlie Jade, is it in English or would I be reading all 21 episodes???

Well if we are recommending shows, I'd have to say that I'm a huge fan of TrueBlood, Rescue Me, and Sons Of Anarchy... I try not to miss these shows...

Along with regular shows like House, Criminal Minds, NCIS {the original}, CSI & CSI NY, Numbers... This bunch of shows I watch when I get the chance...

I have never gotten into a sci- fi show since The X-Files.

Just stopped watching as much tv after it went off the air.

I guess I watch the biggest loser cause my wife does, but not much else.

Yep, already a massive fan of Doctor Who, 24 and The Sopranos. I'm currently:

- Doctor Who: up to date

- 24: about to start watching Redemption and Season 7 next week for the first time

- Sopranos: half way through Season 5

I also want to try:

- Mad Men

- Boston Legal

- X Files

- Deadwood

Boston Legal was a funny show, sadly it has been canceled...
