In a Tex kinda mood....

so I thought I'd post pics of the last of my "secret" stash! Is Tex a cyborg? Or maybe a replicant? The cover of the Russian Edition of Pandora Directive may cause you to entertain that thought. Comes with spiffy endpapers and a whole lot of text that is unreadable to me. Maybe Alex would like to enlighten us as to the back cover remarks.
I wish I could say the Secret Corporate Zodiac was the twisted tale of the Illumaniti or Skull and Bones, or any other sinister and corrupt society that manipulates the world through a handful of self appointed politically powerful men. (That we all know Really does exist!)
It's actually the true story of the rise and acquisition of a small tech company pioneered by 4 very different men who immersed themselves in the policy of building corporate "culture", not only to keep the company afloat, but as a way of motivating employees. There was a lot of humor in the book, and an interesting enough story about a couple of guys doing the almost impossible act of juggling their enterprise against (insert hackneyed phrase) heavily stacked odds for failure both from outside and within.

The others pretty much explain themselves. A copy of Adrian's short film, and a copy of Stolen Life on DVD. If you haven't seen it yet, I'd suggest it. You can buy it cheaply as a download or pony up a little more for an actual copy.

That is awesome!!!!
Although there is at least one grammatical mistake on the back of the box for the Russian. 2042 goda, not 2042 god. (I am writing transliterated Russian out of sheer laziness.) If a number ends in 1, it is singular; 2-4, it is genitive singular, 5-9 or something ending in 0 (10, 20, 30, 100, etc), it is genitive plural. So, the genitive singular form is required for 2042. (2042 is generally said as "dvadsat sorok dva", that is, 20, 42. "dva" forces genitive singular ending. That is why Russians who aren't fluent in English often say "two of cat" instead of "two cats".)
My favorite part of the game box is the part that says "Fantastichniskiy Detectiv" on the top right above the picture. I love the Russified English that often results from these translations. "Pandora" stays the same in Russian, which makes sense, it's a Greek name. Aaron Conners is pretty much the same (just written in Cyrillic) -- sometimes names can be funny too.
Now if only I could read the entire back...lol I can pick up some words here and there at least!

I know you mentioned you were translating another translation, but looking back on it now I can say for certain the grammar *is* correct for "Malloy" -- it is the genitive case, so it is Malloy's research. Also, "Thomas Malloy" is put in the grammatically correct genitive case as well, since it is the work of Thomas Malloy.
This has been a good exercise for me, I really need to brush up more and learn more vocab
As usual u got some sweet goodies there Jen and yep we all seen the treasures JtoG has stowed away and im sure he has some gems hidden from us.
