WATCH THIS!

I couldn't really slip in enough words here to explain how hillarious this is, so just watch it. Easily a prime contender for the YouTube video of the year. Put short, it's a 70 minute review of Star Wars Ep 1. This is a work of comedy genious. Enjoy!

I can't stand the guy's voice. It's a droning that competes with Ben Stein. One day I'll watch the whole thing.

I happen to like all 6 of the Star Wars films...
I'll admit that the latest 3 didn't have as much action as the originals, but the way this guy is complaining, it sounds like all he wanted was a Remake of the originals... He complained the characters weren't the same, he complained that the story wasn't the same, he complained that it wasn't filmed the same way... I mean what the hell, they should have just remade the originals using new characters, that's pretty much the translation I got out of this...
They weren't suppose to be the same, so stop trying to compare them to the originals... People cried for years to know how the characters became what they did... How did the Empire come into power??? Why was it that Obi Won and Yoda were in hiding??? How was Darth Vader Luke's father and how was he Lela's brother??? None of this stuff was really explained in the Originals, but people wanted to know... True you had about 2 or 3 lines from Obi Won telling Luke that his mother died and he took it upon himself to separate the twins, but that's it... How did Vader and their mother get together to begin with???
You couldn't expect these movies to be the same...
I've always wondered something myself though... Lela's name was changed to Organa, why wasn't Luke's name changed to Lars???
I'll agree that some of the characters had little personality and were kind of flat, but sometimes you get those types... It's a chance you take... Sometimes during filming things look good, but once editing gets finished you think, we should have used someone else for that part, but what are you gonna do, re-film the entire movie, no you have to roll with it...
Edited for a typo...

I agree. I actually think people were expecting far too much of the prequel films. In many ways, Star Wars was the first film of its kind which really push the boundaries of production and story telling. But I still love the reviewer for the endless humour he injects into it, wrong though most of it was.
He had his moments, but I was only able to get through about half of it...

I thought he made some great points, but I was already pretty unimpressed with Phantom Menace. His points were overall valid: it simply wasn't a good movie. Whatever else it was, it was not a fine film, with flat characters (not acted badly, but written in that way), numerous story incongruities, unevenness of pace, etc. The best that can be said is that it's still not so bad as he thought it was, but surely no one would say it wasn't somewhat of a disappointment. Am I wrong?
(Just my two cents, of course...)

I'll state for the record that I am allergic to Jar-Jar Binks. I break out in rashes and boils and sprout giant pez dispensers on my elbows. They dispense pure hatred.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
I saw this last week and absolutely loved it. I hated his voice until i understood the joke (and then that combined with how he edited the audio became gold).
I really liked it cause it wasn't just a fanboy rant against the movie but a critical look at why it doesn't hold up as a movie (the bit where he asks people to describe the characters was one of my favs).
Worth the 70 mins

The whole thing was wonderfully insightful.
His quote about the the first shot in Star Wars being so good that he wonders if Lucas actually had anything to with it deserves serious consideration.
He perfectly articulates why these movies (which I so wanted to love) are simply impossible to TRULY love. I feel real, physical pain every time I watch these things.
Lucas screwed up so much that you even question how bad the original Star Wars might have been had someone not kept him in check.
Those prequels (and Indy 4) were simply the biggest letdowns in Hollywood history. I just want to forget them forever.

You've got to be kidding? Come on, really look at your choice of words there. If you take them literally, you're claiming that the SW prequels and Indy were worse than Waterworld, Battlefield Earth, Batman & Robin, Gligli, House of Wax and Lions for Lambs. Inevitably the SW prequels and recent Indiana Jones installment didn't match the artistic and conceptual quality of the originals. But I wasn't expecting that. To be honest, when seeing all four of those films, all I expected was an action filled blockbuster to take my mind off the world and that is exactly what I got. I had fun.Tuco wrote:

Yes the acting was abhorrent, the scripts were two-dimensional, the CGI saturation was mind numbing at times. But were they fun? Hell yes.
I understand if you didn't like them and that's fine. But to proclaim them as the greatest Hollywood failure's in the industry's history? I respect your opinion but I can't agree there.
