Fun & games & prizes for the new year

Like most of you I am extremely grateful to Demonlawyer for another fantastic calendar for the new year. After printing the pages I thought it would be cool if we had a little contest. First, let me "dangle the carrot", so to speak. First prize: UAKM the actual book; second prize: The Pandora Directive the book; third prize: Tex Murphy: Overseer the soundtrack (sealed).

So, what's the game? Identify, with as much detail as possible, each of the 12 pictures used to make the calendar. What is meant by details? Who is the character and who was the actor portraying that person; where was the actor/character at the time; what game was it taken from; if there was a conversation involved, who with; and any other info you can provide.

This may seem a bit over the top, but after all we've been through in 2009, I thought we could start 2010 with a bang. Too, many of us have several saved games and can quickly pop if the CD or Flash Drive, locate the scene, get the pertinent info and make notes of it.

Finally, in order to give as many as possible an opportunity to participate, the deadline will be Jan. 31, 2010. However, under special circumstances I may be willing to extend that deadline to allow more to get involved.

The decision making process will be mine alone and I promise no favoritism. Besides, I love you all and will be impartial to the best of my ability.

If you have any other suggestions as to how to play this little game, please send them to me in a PM. As for the game itself, please send all entries to: [email protected].

Let the games begin!!! And, best to you all.

Oh, I almost forgot. Demonlawyer is not allowed an entry. Sorry, my friend.

What a great idea! Alas, my dearest is heading back soon after a LONG separation (July), and we will be flying off to Hawaii to catch up on lost holidays and lost time.

But good luck to all, that UAKM novel is a tasty carrot indeed. :D

BTW Jim, love the avatar and the sig!
Yes I would love to have the UAKM Novel... I've read on the Electronic one a little bit, but I do much better with folding pages in my hand...
I'd be happy with any of them or even none of them...

It was fun trying to think of Captions for all those Pictures... Let me know how I did Jim... I sent it to you earlier today... Let me know that you got it as well...

Dear friends, I'm a little surprised at the lack of response for this fun and not so challenging game. Not disappointed or discouraged; just a little taken aback. I know there are some of you who do not possess an actual copy of the books. One merely needs to look at the new Tex calendar, determine the few scant details surrounding each month's picture, and send me your answers. At stake for first place is UAKM the actual book; 2nd place is The Pandora Directive book and 3rd place is the TMO soundtrack. The deadline is Jan. 31, 2010, that's 11 days from now (ten for some).

I'm interested, sure. But for lack of time and more importantly, the actual calendar, I'm not eligible at the moment.

Lately Jim, I've been working more than even you. I'm tired. Got a few weeks off coming to me though, looking forward to it.

Wow, it only seems like it has been a couple of weeks since you posted about having a 4 month holiday and now you're back to work... Time sure flies on by doesn't it... Hope you catch a break soon...
I know you posted months ago about that, but it sure seems less...

Hey Jim,
Yeah I've got no good excuse. I'm just off to a real lazy start this year. I can already feel like this is not going to be a good year for me.

Well, since you all are working harder than moi, I will extend the contest until Feb. 28th, if that is agreeable.

BTW, I started my social security Jan. 1, 2010 and get my first check in Feb. However, I am still working part time on my day job, but the night work (for the last 26 years) is gone!

I am sooooo relieved.

Plumgas, sorry I must have lost the email somewhere. If you send again I'll email by return.

I'll try and dig out your email in the meantime.

Jim, must admit I missed this post first time round, so thanks for bumping it.
David

Ok, it's sent, I hope you get.

In the meantime I hope others have a stab at this - even a few right answers I'm sure will help here.
