Moving to the USA!
Well as the title states: I am moving to the USA!
Remember a while back I mentioned I might be heading up there at some stage in the near-ish future. Well it's all coming to pass at the end of this year! I am going to be a resident of Los Angeles, California come Sept-Oct.
I am currently trying to secure my employment over there, and will probably spend the next few months saving up my pennies and sorting out all the formalities, but I have tried to coincide the move with the ending of my current lease here in Sydney.
Despite my partner's initial reluctancy, it was actually her who put my ass into gear by telling me if you don't plan on doing it now it's not going to happen so JUST DO IT, and so we are both starting all the organising that will result in our biggest change/move yet.
I am actually very excited about this. But the only issue that has hit me is deciding where abouts in LA to get a place. I plan on doing some post-graduate studies at UCLA further down the track so somewhere near there would suit. I am fortunate to have a co-worker who lived there for a few years and he suggested places like Westwood (obviously), Brentwood, Santa Monica, West Hollywood... etc. But I also want to get other people's opinions from those of you who know the areas well and can provide further advice?
Anyway, I will keep everyone posted on the progress and hopefully I can get everything sorted in time!

Wow that's a huge move! I wish I could help. I used to live in Orange county next door to LA county. All I can tell you is get used to being surrounded by a lot of people. It is really really crowded in Southern California.
Save up a lot of pennies because you are going to need them. Good luck on your new adventure.

I don't know Cub, just spend a few months with our variety of candies and abundance of transsexual prostitutes and you will never look back.

Congrats, when you do any tours of the states be sure to come to the East Coast, I'll make time to show you some sites...
As for LA, I've only been there very briefly {not even a full day}... Not my type of town so I can't recommend anything...
But I certainly wish you the best with it...
Sept-Oct huh... You'll be just in time for Halloween, American Style... lol
I've seen your pics though, you shouldn't have a problem fitting in...
