Book Where I First Learned About Tex Murphy
There was a book that I picked up once in 1994 or 1995 that contained a handful of very in-depth computer game reviews including one for Under A Killing Moon. From that book I first learned about Tex Murphy and I was so enthralled by the review of UAKM that I asked my mother to take me out to look for it at the local mall computer game store. I have since lost the book but, for the sake of nostalgia, I'm trying to find it again. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the book or any other games that were in it. I think it may have also had an in-depth review for The 7th Guest but I can't be sure. Does it sound familiar to anyone?

Yeah it does sound like a cool book. I remember playing the 7th guest. It was the first CD-ROM game I ever played. I wouldn't have called it an interactive movie since you were just an observer.
I never read anything about Tex beforehand. I just saw them running UKAM in a computer game store. I was so impressed with the game interface that sold me on the game. The 3D range of motion of the game was fantastic! It was a pleasant surprise for me that it was an interactive movie too.

Funny you should mention that, Trilaan. While I do not have THAT book, I do have one called "The Best Adventure & Role Playing Games" published in 1997. It has 20 reviews of some really great games including: MYST; ZORK NEMISIS; PANDORA DIRECTIVE; FULL THROTTLE; THE DIG; RIPPER and several other titles I'm sure you will recognize. The purpose of the book is to share strategies and secrets of these wonderful games.
Oh, BTW, it also has....drum roll please.....a little more drums please....a CD with 10 demos including PD.
No, it is NOT for sale or rental...well, maybe rental on pain of death if you do not send it back to me.
