Confused
Please, don't misinterpret my intentions, I'm just confused as to the fact that in regard to people asking questions about UAKM/PD/TMO they usually just referred to gog.com. It just seems to me that there is some sort of reluctance to help people nowadays.
Is it just me?
And something else, gog.com is using dosbox to make the games compatible to newer systems? If that is true, aren' t they just cheating? Isn't it the same as installing dosbox yourself and digging up an old copy of the game? Let me reiterate, "don't misinterpret my intentions", i'd just feel "robbed", if that were truly the case.
Have a nice day.

Hey SpikedSoul,
No it's not really a reluctance on our part to help. It's just we've all been there and done that over the years. It's a bit of effort and we are never sure if people want to go to the trouble.
The main reason we direct people to GOG is that the game is posted there by the game creators Aaron Conners and Chris Jones and we want proceeds to go to them to support a future Tex Murphy game. We don't really think of it as re-buying a game we already own. We think of it as donation to our favorite PI.
Yes the "free" solution is to load up DOSbox on your machine and use your existing Tex CDs to run. If people really want to do it, then yes we'll be more than happy to tell you how to do it. We just wanted to get people to the fun of playing the games again as quickly and with as minimal effort as possible. We never know how computer savy people are who simply ask how to run Tex on new machines.
I hope that answers your question. So if you want the gory details, let just know.
