What's your favorite James Bond movie?
Random question for Monday just to start the ball rolling.
You Only live Twice
I enjoyed the opening sequence after he gets shot and fakes his death. The cops find his body in the bed after having slept with the evil woman. One guys says "Looks like he died on the job". The other guy says "He would've wanted it that way". Too funny.
Plus I loved the Ninjas and air fight scene with Little Nellie.

Any of them with Sean Connery surely rate high with me... And then Bronson comes in 2nd... Sorry, but I'm just not a Roger Moore fan...

My favorite would have to be Goldeneye. If I got to pick a 2nd I'd say Quantum of Solace, and if I got to pick a 3rd...Goldfinger.

Moonraker.

LIES!! Moonraker sucked a golfball through a gardenhose! Actually I have to say my favorite Bondfilm would have to be a tie between Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
No, not that the Death Wish Series wasn't a great run of films... Sure do miss Charles... That Family Of Cops he did for TV was pretty good too, there were 3 of those I believe...Demonlawyer wrote:Baf - are you thinking of Charles Bronson and Death Wish? :-0
But I was speaking of Pierce Brosnan... Sorry I misspelled his name in my first post...
I thought he did a pretty good job, I was kind of disappointment when he stopped doing Bond Films...

I agree. I have loved Pierce Brosnan ever since Remington Steele. I don't have anything against Daniel Craig. I think he did a decent job in Casino Royale, but I prefer Brosnan.
I really liked his dark hair and those pretty blue eyes.

1. Goldfinger
2. Live and Let Die
3. Goldeneye
4. Casino Royale with Craig
Not necessarily in that order, but it is difficult since there were 4 different actors for Bond.
Favorite Bond line was from Diamonds Are Forever when Bond sees Tiffany Case (gotta love those Bond girl names) in a small bikini: "Well, that's a nice little nothing you're almost wearing."

"If you look to me for illumination, you better have a flashlight!"
The name I'll never forget is Pussy Galore from Goldfinger. Xenia Onatopp from Goldeneye would be a close second for racy names.
I think if I were those women, I would have changed my name years ago but what can you expect from Bond villains. I guess the names are supposed to tell you that they are definitely not nice girls.
On the flip side I guess that's why Honey Ryder and Christmas Jones are the good girls in the Bond films.

If we're just talking about Bond Girl Names, I've always liked Honey Ryder {Dr. No}, the first Bond Girl as well actually... There have been 52 Bond Girls so far to date...

I've got to admit, I never liked the Brosnan films. Brosnan himself has so little charisma he'd have trouble opening a set of automatic doors. And his films have so much blatantly obvious product placement in them my eyes start bleeding.
I could live with most of Casino Royale though, with the exception of the discussion on the train, about the brand of watch Bond is wearing. Product placement in film makes me hate the movie in question, I can't help it.
Here's a fun fact - Christopher Lee is Ian Fleming's cousin.

Ooo, toss up between Moonraker and Live and Let Die
I like one for its cheeziness and the other for its creepiness when i was younger.
Also the Casino Royale remake was brilliant, but i really didn't like Quantum of Solace. The editting made it look like one of the later Bourne films (i am not a fan of that quick cutting style in action films).
