That was a good read... I don't recall anyone talking about The Lost Crown before, I'm gonna have to check it out... Sounds like a good game...

I have played two of his titles - dark fall 1 & dark fall lights out.
the first dark fall was scary, probably due to the background music.
both are on gog .

Thanks for posting this. I'm definitely a fan of Jonathan Boakes games. I've played the first two Dark Falls and really enjoyed The Lost Crown. I hear a sequel to that one is in the works.

I'm actually playing Dark Fall: Lost Souls currently. It's amazing how Jonathan has added so much, and changed the environment of the location from the first Dark Fall. This one definitely has some disturbing images and concepts, but it's all in fun.

I actually found lost crown yesterday at my online game supplier, should be playing on the week-end

Congratulations... to me The Lost Crown was really one of the most fascinating adventure games in a long, long time. It surely has a few rough edges, which is no surprise, considering that most of the game was made by one person, and it is surely not a game for everyone, but once you get lost in the world of Saxton (which might need a little while)... the atmosphere, the beautiful locations in Cornwall, and the story develop the power to deliver an extremely captivating and unusual experience. Another thing I really like is that the game is a LOT longer than most adventure games these days... but I guess you'll find out about that soon.

I have to agree with this for sure. Lost Crown was one of the best I've played in a very long time, and for one person to do most of the work on it is nothing short of amazing. Jonathan Boakes is pretty dang talented!

I also didn't realize until I saw a picture of him how closely he actually resembles Nigel Danvers from Lost Crown!

well so far I quite like the lost crown, early days yet. this forest is creeping me out.

well I have now finished the lost crown.....wow great story. This is what adventure games are all about. Nice & long two. Has to be one of the best stories I have come across besides tex of course.

I totally agree... adventure games with these qualities are very seldom these days.

If you prefer a boxed version: You can order that from Jonathan's store as well. It's only 10,30$ (free shipping and postage). Jonathan is based in England, but he is very fast with sending out games and he delivers a great service for his customers.

Anyone played any of those other games on that list??? All of them sound pretty good...

darkfall 1 & 2 are on gog, I am waiting for lost souls to be available over here,
Barrow Hill & Rhiannon are on the download list I will give them a go after I get my wired internet sorted out.

The lost crown I paid about $30.00 for the dvd version.

When did you buy it??? Because it is only 10.30 now... I'm not sure which why I'll go with it... One the one had it is nice to have the DVD, but it is so much more easier to just Download it and run it... lol
