Shameless promo for my interview with Jonathan Boakes
I can recall that some of you really liked the 2008 adventure game "The Lost Crown" by Jonathan Boakes. Therefore I wanted to share the link to my brandnew interview with Jonathan.
His current game "Dark Fall III: Lost Souls" has just been released in Germany, therefore a lot of the first part deals with Dark Fall III. However, there is also a lot of background info on Jonathan, his work, his influences (especially in the 2.nd part) and some early info on the 2.nd part of the Crown series.

I hope that the fans among you will enjoy the interview!

You are quite right to be shameless about such things here. There's no need to feel shame for your love of adventure games among this bunch of comedians!

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
That was a good read... I don't recall anyone talking about The Lost Crown before, I'm gonna have to check it out... Sounds like a good game...

Thanks for posting this. I'm definitely a fan of Jonathan Boakes games. I've played the first two Dark Falls and really enjoyed The Lost Crown. I hear a sequel to that one is in the works.
I'm actually playing Dark Fall: Lost Souls currently. It's amazing how Jonathan has added so much, and changed the environment of the location from the first Dark Fall. This one definitely has some disturbing images and concepts, but it's all in fun.

That's a really good argument!Fred Buer wrote:You are quite right to be shameless about such things here. There's no need to feel shame for your love of adventure games among this bunch of comedians!

@Plumgas
Congratulations... to me The Lost Crown was really one of the most fascinating adventure games in a long, long time. It surely has a few rough edges, which is no surprise, considering that most of the game was made by one person, and it is surely not a game for everyone, but once you get lost in the world of Saxton (which might need a little while)... the atmosphere, the beautiful locations in Cornwall, and the story develop the power to deliver an extremely captivating and unusual experience. Another thing I really like is that the game is a LOT longer than most adventure games these days... but I guess you'll find out about that soon.
I have to agree with this for sure. Lost Crown was one of the best I've played in a very long time, and for one person to do most of the work on it is nothing short of amazing. Jonathan Boakes is pretty dang talented!Jack Vanian wrote: Congratulations... to me The Lost Crown was really one of the most fascinating adventure games in a long, long time. I also didn't realize until I saw a picture of him how closely he actually resembles Nigel Danvers from Lost Crown!
