What's on your bucket list?

Before I die,

-- I'd like to see the penguins in Antarctica.
-- Visit the moon in the future when we have commercial flights there (like in Airplane II but not so dangerous)
-- See aliens visit the Earth
-- Visit all 7 continents

and last but not least
-- See one more Tex Murphy game that wraps up all loose ends

I've got kind of a different view on this.

I have nothing on my bucket list, because I am aware that death will come for me. Eventually. It might be in many decades, it might be in a few minutes. I don't know when. I only know it's for sure. And when my time comes, I do not wish to look death in the eye and hope in futility for more sand in the hourglass that I cannot have.

Instead - I will live life to the fullest. I will enjoy everything. I will try everything once. I will find happiness in the smile of another. I will live in the moment.

Life is too short to have regrets. I'm gonna suck that hourglass dry.

In other words, Freds bucket list is to eat a lot of sand.

Way to put a damper on my post about what to do before you die Fred.

Well yes we'd all like to live a life with no regrets, but we are human. There will always be the road not taken, the girl not kissed, the job not done.

So I guess we should "Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die!"

Sorry about the dampness effect. That wasn't my intention.

Between Fred, Freep and Gary Sogar I will never lack anything in humor.

OK, back to the subject at hand. I have been thinking about this since the movie came out and I do not yet have a complete list. So, thanks to Sam I will work on this and post something soon.

P.S. This thread is a good idea. Thanks again, Sam.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I thought Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman were great. It was a good story about enjoying life to the fullest.

Let's see...things to do before I die...

1) Revisit Kalemegdan with a flashlight. As a kid I've been to Belgrade, Serbia several times and visited this historical site, and on it there is a well with a spiral staircase that circles around it deep into darkness. I wanted to go down that staircase, but each time I was there I didn't have a flashlight.

Info on Kalemegdan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalemegdan

2) Learn another language. Probably Serbian, as my parents speak it, but I'd actually like to learn Japanese.

3) Finish writing a novel. Just because I'm over halfway done with the one I'm working on doesn't mean I'll finish. But I'll try.

4) Fall in love. I've heard good things about this one.

Good items Vracar.

I have to admit #2 and #3 are on my to do list. Don't know if I'll ever get around to them but hey it's always good to set goals for yourself. You are farther along than me. I can't seem to get past chapter 3.

I've heard good things about #4 too. When it lasts, it's fantastic. When it doesn't, ooh the heartache but will have to admit the lows are worth the highs.

I haven't ever really put one together, so this is sort of off of the top of my head (and as such are subject to change at any time), but here goes:

1. Hike to the top of Mount Snowdon. I've been twice. The first time, the weather got so bad (60+mph gusts) that my wife and I were unable to get to the top. We were close, but no cigar. The second time, the weather never cleared up enough for us to give it a real go.

2. Visit all seven continents. It's not very original, but I think it'd be cool. I've been only to two so far, so I have my work cut out for me.

3. Become fluent (or very close to it) in Welsh. This one is a work-in-progress.

4. Own a Lotus automobile. This one is kind of stupid, but when I was growing up, my dad had a Europa, which I thought was the coolest car ever. I have loved Loti ever since and I admit fully that this is completely irrational.

5. Be a grandparent. It's sappy and something over which I have no control, but I think it would be cool to be a grandparent one day.
A Bucket List... I remember when they assigned this back in school... I hated it then too... lol

I've seen Death come in many different forms to many different people of many different ages...
So the thought of actually making a list and then having my time cut unnaturally short, would end up making me feel --- unfulfilled...

So with all respect, I respectfully decline this assignment...
I got an A for that... I really expected him to fail me, but he wrote, "I Admire someone willing to stick to their beliefs, Congratulations."...

Haha. It wasn't supposed to be depressing or work. Just a window into your personality and priorities in life.

Whatever. It's one of those questions where the answers don't matter. All that matters is that it made you think.
