I might not be so chatful in the next few days. When it's my turn for the story, I will go at it, so please don't skip me or anything.
We lost my grandmother earlier tonight. Kind of knocked the wind out of me. She was the single most important person in my childhood. I don't know, we just had that kind of unspoken connection. She would never admit to having favorites of all her grandchildren or anything, and I would never claim I was - but we had this special bond. We never spoke of it, but we both knew it was there. And... now she's passed on.
I remember I told you guys many years back I lost my grandfather. That'll be nine years past, come august. We're laying her to rest beside him.
And I'm all out of grandparents.

You have my sympathies. Twelve years later I miss my gran' pop more than I did when he passed, but the grief is not a burden, more like a good memory that keeps on driftin'

well fred when I read your heading, I thought "fred being quite, that's a laugh"
but then I read the next line, sorry for your loss. Both My grand parents are gone also.
My grandfather was a very fit man & her died reading the paper one morning a bit shock for everyone. My grandmother lived on for about another 5yrs & when i was told she was in hospital I went straight there but she had already gone. Very upsetting time.
I had a friend that died from cancer & she said to me that she had been to a beautiful place with lots of flowers & she said "I think I will like going there" I was a bit confused by that statement & assumed it was the medication she had been given . Shortly after that she died, & then I realised what she was referring to - the other side.
My thoughts are with you
