Big Finish Site...

Same problem over here, Baf. Maybe they're preparing it for a new section or announcement of a new project All will be revealed!

I don't know. I'm a little concerned. They shouldn't have to take down the entire site just to make some modifications. The site was up most of the day on Monday and then just disappeared Monday night.

I sent James a PM asking if he's doing anything with the Big Finish website. Maybe I'm just worrying for nothing.

We're currently working on resolving an issue with the Big Finish web address, and should hopefully have things straightened out over the next couple days. Stay tuned!

James is on the case. That's almost as good as Tex on the case. The only case I've ever been on was a case of Labatt's Blue.

Okay I feel better. I was picturing the worst case scenario where Chris and Aaron decided to close up shop and leave the country and never speak to us again.

How strange - I last visited the site over the weekend too and yet today the site is up for sale on godaddy.com

When I said some yahoo sucker-punched us, I was being literal. Apologies to anyone who loves Yahoo, but I think they're a big, steamy POS.

We went them when we created the BFG website and they've been nothing but trouble. After some recurring technical issues, James switched us over to Media Temple for hosting (no problems), and then - it almost feels like out of sheer spite - Yahoo neglected to inform us that the domain name was expiring.

In fact, it wasn't until I heard from some of my contacts at various gaming websites that I even realized the site was down. (Amazing how quickly word gets around - I'd checked the site the day before and it was fine!)

Of course, panic ensued and I spent most of the day tracking down the problem, finding out the status of the domain name, getting it unlocked from where it was being held captive (in Melbourne, Australia, of all places), setting up a new account, and finally getting it transferred. Master LeMosy then had to update our settings and we were (whew!) back in business.

Moral of the story: Yahoo sucks. (I also hate their email and fantasy sports programs, for what it's worth.)

And, again, sorry to cause any undue concern. As I said in our message to the BFG users, we are still very much in business and working toward a glorious reunion with our fedora-sporting chump!

As ever, thanks for keeping us updated Aaron. Sorry to hear that they have been so much trouble - it's rubbish when some giant company tries do flex their muscles purely for pedantic reasons. You'd have thought they would have been more professional.

Wow what a terrible story. I'm glad you got everything fixed and things are well. They timed the outage when people were least likely to notice over the holiday weekend. I make sure to check the site everyday so that's how I noticed something was wrong on Monday the 5th.

Thank you for filling us in on the details. Well I guess it's a good sign you found out from other gaming sites. It means lots of people are checking out your site.
