Pc gaming.... To be or not to be that is the question
Like many here I have been a very loyal PC gamer for many years.
However with death of adventure gam... (I'm getting better) . Ok the near fatal wounding.. (I think I might go for a walk)
Sorry for the monty python joke....
Like I said, with the decline of Adventure games and many other great games from older times I have begun to think the unthinkable. I am thinking of actually purchasing a new game system and spending my hard earned gaming dollar just on the x-box. I was wondering if others who have been around the PC gaming land for a long time are thinking the same thing. Granted I will probably still buy one or two PC games a year but only as budget items.
I wonder this because over the last 3 or so years I havent had a really great gaming experience on the PC. I dont count Pirates becasue basicly its still the same game I played years before just with a few new bells. (granted its a great game)
Any thoughts???

Ummm...I'm bi-platform. I have fun no matter if I'm spending my nights with my PC or a console.

I'm a fan of both, as I usually go for the games over the platform. Like, I normally would have no interest in a PSP, but there are some games coming out for it soon that I have a high interest in. So, I'm probably going to grab one soon. And, I'm buying a PS3 mainly for the Final Fantasy series, but especially for the new Sonic coming out
That game just looks way too cool.

I don't mind consoles or their controllers... and I would only really move to the console world if the adventure game genre was resurrected on them in an attempt to get cinematic gaming into the living room (where it belongs).
Other than that, and considering this move it not likely for some time I will stay with PC... I like the idea of per-game customisation and fiddling with settings (you can't do that with a console).

I'm a long time PC gamer since the x86, and I've had my PS2 for almost a year now. For the past year I've spent my gaming dollars mainly on the PS2 simply because there hasn't been any good PC games or too many poor console ports. And I don't think that the PC has any games like Smackdown vs Raw, Rise to Honour, Death By Degrees, Rumble Roses, Tekken.......
It took me a while to get used to the controller, but deep down I still prefer the good old keyboard + mouse. I became quite efficent on Max Payne using the kb+mouse, trying to play on a PS2 controller took quite a bit of getting used to.

Cub I think you nailed it right on! That is almost exactly how I feel, I love and am still loyal to the PC but I have begun to seriously question that loyality with the current choices for games and the fact that more and more retailers are droping them from their stores. Eventually I think even Walmart will stop selling them.
Its the ability to customize and settings that make the PC unique. But also in years past there also was a very different feel of those games. They seemed to me made with much more maturity and an older gamer in mind. Now it seems like I am supposed to be under 13 to play anything.
