oprah heading for down under

Yeah I heard about this. I honestly didn't think Australia needed tourism help. I'd happily go over there if I had the money and could get enough time off from work.

I saw the clip of the announcement on YouTube and I swear, I don't even think asylum seekers could have been happier if they had received such news. It looked like some of them were going to collapse.

I saw it on the News... Must be nice to have money like that... I'm sure Oprah is throwing her fair share towards this trip, as well as Travolta, he might be the one flying everybody over...

I wonder if we got Aaron and Chris in her Audience if she would fund a new Tex game...

That is actually a good idea.

travolta is flying the plane , most of the costs will be for accomodation.

oprah isn't forking out anything, even when she gave the cars away they were donated by the car dealers.

australia is always trying to boost holiday makers to come over here, most people say australia is a country they would love to visit but never get here.

It costs so much just to get there, not to mention staying, eating, and souvenirs, activities, and anything else people can think of doing while on vacation...

It isn't Australia's fault that it costs so much to get there, blame that on the airlines who want to charge people just to use a pillow... I'm waiting for them to put in coin slots on the airplane toilets... Can't lift the lid until you've put a quarter in... Watch, it's coming...

hm, I just cant get into Oprah. I mean, she may be a billionaire with her own talk show host since 1980s and now gaining her own Oprah network channel in 2011. I don't know if her network will succeed or fail.

Oprah is nothing different then any other talk show host Ive seen on tv as she does a good job with charity, giving presents to the audience, an among others good deed she done over the year but sometime can be for PR reasons to gain herself some points with gaining endorsement, paid appearance, and many others goodies in return.

Oprah may be high-profile talk show host like a lot of talk show host but there's nothing special about Oprah but her performance over the years to keep her audience entertaining over the years. I know her finale did have a big drop in audience and ratings though.

I hope the best of luck for her new network channel.

now these days all network companies cares about is RATING on national television. Sad, the way a lot of them go by Ratings now.

Oprah has her own magazine, she is a co-owner of the WE Network Channel, I'm pretty sure she co-owns a publishing company, she has opened several schools in Africa, among many other accomplishments, too many to name... You really think a Simple Talk Show made her as rich as she is???

I don't care for her myself, but I do know that if she wants something to succeed, it does...

Even without her sponsorships and corporations, you'd find she'll just be able to claim the travel and accommodation expenses on tax because she could just factor it in as a production cost. That's exactly what any touring musician will do which is part of the reason they're able to simply book the most expensive hotel by getting their management to pay for it and then claim it back at the end of the financial year. It's just business.

I have never been into her also, I think maybe I haver only see one of her shows,
I did like her in "the color purple however"

basically people beleive her & if she says it's good "they buy it"

so if she said tex murphy was god they would beleive it too.

The wife likes it so I just watched it with her.
