well with the gog version works as far as the installation but I cannot go any further.
the screen is the same as my hd cd version so I need to solve this problem.
please help by looking at the gog image.

If you've got a spare copy of XP you can give this a try:

I have my version installed on xp, same pc just with dual boot.
I only been fiddling around since I got the midi working which I was so excited about & just put in another sound card & setup the midi & wanted to try it out under win 7. (32) works okay also
well it did before I setup this new system.

This is what I was afraid of, which is why I haven't downloaded it on my new computer yet...
I think I will be introducing Tex to my Son soon... He is 12 1/2 now and I think he can understand the complexity of the Tex games... His computer is XP so I shouldn't have any worries of him playing any of them...

I have exactly the same issue! I have not bothered investigating why it is happening though. But I did take the initiative and use Cyberpunk's method of using the Virtual PC (XP Mode) that comes with Windows 7 Ultimate.
I used to have a dual boot just like you but when my machine crashed I took the opportunity to just reformat and have a single Win 7 64 install on SSD. So far from my own experiences, UAKM and Pandora work fine, and Overseer gets this issue. I even tried the simple compatability mode but it's obviously a deeper issue than that. Until someone can figure out what the issue is you can simply go back to your XP boot or try the virtualisation as Cyberpunk suggested.
If I were to make an educated guess I would think it is a graphical issue that the current version of DosBox is not translating correctly for Win 7 64. I know that the windows driver foundation (WDF), particularly for video adapters, was updated in Win 7 since Vista, which may be why it will work in Vista 64 and not Win 7 64.
Just out of curiosity, what version of Win 7 you running? Caus that may impact it as well, as strange as it sounds.

ultimate 64, however some people on gog have it running. My monitor is hdmi but can't be the problem as every other game runs.
UAKM & PAndora don't have an issue as with dos box runs on top of windows & it was only the installer that needed changing.
a few people using ati video card disabled the 3d control panel & disabled the twin card.
I can't see it's a driver issue as it would probably have the same effect.
changing nvidea settings has no effect. Win7 32 works fine with overseer

The reason why I asked what version you are running is: I have had issues that seem to only apply to the Ultimate edition. Even comparing between all 64 bit editions, some ultimate users have had a few 'unique' issues. Anyway, try disabling all Windows Aero/Glass desktop themes and revering back to classic or something like that.

Roll back to an earlier release by selection older and beta drivers from their website. Try a pre 200 series driver.

to answer your question, new card no old drivers............but wait for it
whoo hoo
now works.
Don't know what it was but recently I downloaded the latest version of PHYSX from nvidea as my lost game does not work with it. I thought maybe the version I downloaded did not work best with the driver. So what the hell maybe try the beta driver.
I have midi also haven't had midi for years.
gog seemed to have cleaned the videos up a bit also.
thanks also cub for your suggestions anyway.

I'm glad you got this sorted out. I have Windows 7 64 bit and haven't had any issues (although I did have some in the video sequences of Gabriel Knight 3, but that's another story), but I'm not tech-savvy enough to figure out why mine would work and yours wouldn't.
