some good news today

I like to imagine that every night down there was bro night and they threw wild parties. Though I guess it was just torture

I can't imagine what kind of supplies they must have had down there to survive that long... I know that after a month or so they got the one pipe line down to them for supplies, but still a month living on whatever was down there...

Makes you wonder what we're doing wrong... We have a Cave-In in any of our mines and the miners all end up dead in 3-4 days... We need to take some ques from Chile and re-invent our mining industry...


The funny {not the HaHa funny} thing about this is that it is an American company that went down there to drill and perform the rescue... Yet we can't rescue our own miners when we have cave-ins...

I've been following this story for a while now and I am starting to think: so what? It's no big deal, I mean; in the past minors have been trapped at Neverland Ranch for years on end.

Anyway, they are down to only 2 men to go... Plus the Rescuer that is down there helping them, he'll be last... But it should all be over with in the next hour or so...

And the Last Miner and the Rescuer who went down to help them get in the tube are now all out... Now they just need to close up the hole so no one falls in... Either that or turn it into a Monument, surround it with a concrete fence/wall and plaques...

(OKAY, okay, so I was stretching it. THE JOKE! I mean... not the... uh... forget it. Never mind...)

I really hope this doesn't end up the way it did in Australia, by the end of it the miners started a bidding war for their stories and ended up loaded. At that point people had totally missed the point. I couldn't help but feel scammed by the whole nationalistic plight crap the a current affairs programs were pulling at the time. I also didn't like how the town used it as an excuse to promote tourism either.. it's like do they even understand this was a bad thing to have happen, and you shouldn't make money from something like this. We were lucky that the Chaser at the time was reminding us why we should just ignore this.

(its funny that people still to this day don't get the joke. The chaser were pointing out that Channel 9 was doing the unethical thing here, they turned a great story about two brave miners who were trapped for 2 weeks under ground and saved, into an excuse to make lots and lots of money. Channel 9 actually paid the miners for their story and all exclusive rights to it. I've said this though many times, they simply should stop trying to make money off of other people's misery.)

I noticed Fox News was already heading down that path.

If America can get through this without any cross promotion then they're going a better job than Australia. I really hate the press in this country. (my mum works for the press.. lol.. Newscorp funnily enough, so yeah- I get to know all the dirty stuff when it happens.) A current affairs programs should be outlawed IMO.
