...charity. (the rest of the topic title was cut off).

You know how a few countries are doing a special 25th Anniversary re-release of the original Back to the Future movie? Well, one of the big disappointments for us folks down under was the fact there were no plans to do the same here in Australia.

So I figured, if they weren't going to bring it to us, we were going to go and get it!

Now, thanks to the collaboration between myself and two other creative blokes, who worked tirelessly over the past few weeks making phone calls and utlising our industry connections, it's coming to Sydney!

We have managed to get the backing of Universal Pictures, the Event Cinemas chain, and the Parkinson's NSW charity, and will be doing a special re-release charity screening of the original Back to the Future film here in Sydney in December 1st!!

Universal have also been kind enough to provide us with a full 2K digital cinema resolution version of the fully remastered film! Not only that; we have also gotten our hands on an exact working replica of the DeLoeran from the film and will be shipping it here to Sydney for the event!

The cinema will be doing the full movie premiere treatmen with red carpet, celebrities and fun events where you can win prizes, or get your photo taken with the DeLorean.

So for all of you Aussie Back to the Future fans who can make it along to the event I encourage you to get those time circuts on and get that flux capacitor fluxing! It's a great event and its for a great cuase, as proceeds with go towards Parkinson's NSW to help support people (just like Michael J Fox) who suffer from the disease!

Unfortunately there will be only one screening in one cinema... but tickets will be going on sale soon, so stay connected with the facebook group if you want to grab some: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Back-to-t ... 3481257026

Well, there you have it... if you want something done, do it yourself!

I'm also in the BTTF spirit having ordered the Telltale season plus I will also be purchasing the blu-ray reissue. But the screening does sound good and it is when I am on holidays...I seriously might consider taking the trip up to NSW. Though I am seeing U2 that week so it won't be a cheap one. I'll think about it. Thanks for the offer, Cub :)
You are an awesome aussie. I am impressed.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Very cool indeed Cub.

I just got the movies on blu-ray this past weekend and they look great.

Thanks guys and gals!

I have just finished designing the website for the event, here: http://www.backtothemovies.com.au/

Things are going very well, tickets go on sale soon, and there are some really great prizes the generous folks and sponsors are letting us give away! Should be a great night!

Please be sure on your website to have a special section for donations from people who can't make it out there. Or I guess I could donate the ticket that I want to buy back to you. Anywhoo, give us all a chance to throw your event some love.

....and of course when i say love i mean money.
Wow, amazing work Cub - you never cease to amaze. Excellent work my friend. I'm elated.

Thanks for the responses guys! You're all frikken awesome!

Oh and good idea Jen, I have added that to the site along with a whole bunch of other updates!

It's going well now. The folks over at Universal are getting all excited and already reserved 20 spots in advance! We now just have to figure out when to deliver the DeLorean to the cinemas. I was thinking about having it drive aroudn Sydney for a day promoting the event.

Anyway, it has me keeping long hours, but its a great cause so it's totally worth it!
