New Michael Jackson album and single

I'm actually a few days behind the "major" announcement regarding the new Michael Jackson release, Breaking News. I just had a listen and something doesn't feel right. Obviously, there's a lot of studio doctoring but even his vocals sound odd. I'm unsure if it's the backing vocal that gives the effect, but it just doesn't have the entire "Jackson" feel. In fact, I listened to it twice because at first I couldn't work out which was the lead part for the vocal.

Up until now I was really looking forward to some archival, unreleased music from Jackson, but this first track has kind of soured my expectations. It's just really strange. The music is fantastic, but I have to agree that there's something weird about the vocal.

Judge for yourselves:

Which is too bad for he was one of the greatest entertainers of our time (irregardless of his personal life). One of these days I would like to see the movie they made of his preparation for his final show/tour.

Did you guys hear about Garth Brooks breaking Michael Jackson's Ticket Sale record for a single day??? Happened last week... Garth Brooks Concert in Tennessee, the fans sent Ticketmaster's computers into overload and they had to shut down for a couple of hours to get everything working again...

I give credit where it's due, and Michael Jackson was a great entertainer and extremely popular... But I'm just not a fan... I like very few of his songs...

As for his movie thing Jim, Starz has been playing it like crazy over the last month or two...
If you have Starz the name of the movie is "This Is It"...

Wow! Garth Brooks, eh? Well, good for him.

Unfortunately I do not have Starz or any other major movie channel. Some day it will be out on DVD. In the meantime there is always You Tube.

You're kidding???

Garth Brooks ranks with Dolly Parton, Hank Williams, George Strait, and others when it comes to Country Music, well at least here in the US...

I heard it on the Radio Monday that his ticket sales beat Jackson's old record and then again on the news that evening...

You thinking of Garth Brooks or Billy Ray Cyrus as the one hit wonder?

And as for the Michael Jackson archived stuff..... there is a reason why he decided not to release all those songs. He obviously didn't feel they were up to par.

This feels like a bunch of people trying to cash in on his death again.

Yeah I agree Matt. Garth Brooks put out a lot of good, memorable songs that I enjoyed. Billy Ray Cyrus I would classify more as a one hit wonder.

I feel truly sad about they way things turned out for Michael Jackson. I really wish people would have just let him die in peace and leave his kids alone.

Billy Ray Cyrus was only a one hit wonder in that it is a wonder he even made one hit.

And that song, I'm sure, is the music Lucifer plays in the elevator you're taking downstairs after St. Peter gives you the bad news.
