got some new hardware
just hooked up my logitech g110 keyboard . feels a bit different to use as the keys are slightly smaller than the wave keyboard I was using. Has illuminated keyboard with 3 colours you can set, blue red purple.
I prefer the red as it's brighter as I always use my pc in the dark.
has a usb socket & also sound & mic which is pretty handy. 12 game mode buttons so you can set the keys for assignment in games.
the software has pre listed games already setup, however tex murphy isn't listed for some reason........
also picked up a microsft mobile wirelss 6000 mouse but it's so good I am using it with my desktop. its one one those bluetack ones that glide on any surface, looks great also piano black with chrome trimmings.

that's the problem using another pc, just like when your home pc is super fast & then you use the pc at that work which seems so slow.
I read a review on this keyboard, logitech put this one out as it was cheaper version of the G15 & G19 & doesn't have the LCD screen. Logitech were bit surprised that this model was so popular that day it was released it sold out completely on the first day.
so far the only problem I have found is it could have higher legs & getting used to the caps lock not being on the at the left side end of the keyboard. The Game keys are at that postition.
But I am sure it is something you will get used to.

I totally get you, re: the disparity between the home and work computer. But in this case, and for the first time ever my work computer is significantly faster than my home computer. This thing is a beast... I am tempted to work some overtime just so I can game on it when everybody has gone home!

I did that with a few people in the late 90s... We use to play Unreal Tournament and the Original Grand Theft Auto off of the Company Server... Nothing like Fragging your co-workers with a stolen police car or picking them off with a Sniper Rifle from a nice hidden advantage point...Cubase wrote: I am tempted to work some overtime just so I can game on it when everybody has gone home!
I started off playing Unreal by myself, but then one of the guys had forgotten something one day and had to come back and caught me playing, so he joined in and of course couldn't keep his mouth shut and there ended up being 4 of us... It beat dealing with rush hour traffic... Instead I'd hang out an extra 60-90 minutes having some fun and then it was a nice, easy, relaxing drive home...

The specs of the machine here at work are:plumgas wrote:so what is it cub
Intel Core i7 950 CPU (4 cores, 8 threads) Overclocked to 4GHz
ASUS P6X58D Premium Motherboard
12GB if 2Ghz DDR3 RAM
1.5GB GeForce GTX580 Video Card
2x 60GB Patriot Inferno Solid State Drives in RAID-0 (Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Installed)
2TB WD Caviar Black HDD for Projects
The machine almost gets a perfect score in the Windows 7 Experience Index, except the processor falls bit short. Everything gets 7.9, and the CPU can only reach 7.7. My home PC scores a 7.4.
The IT guys here are great. They are pretty fun guys who are also ex gamers, and pretty much let me fiddle around with the innards of the system, hence why I have been able to overclock it so much.
And Baf, I wish I could do that here, but almost every other machine here is very sub-par, except for the ones that the architects use, which are also pretty hi-spec. But those guys are way to square to appreciate gaming.

I have the same processor & it comes up as 7.5, & 7.5 for 6gb ram , 7.4 for video GTX460 750
motherboard gigabyte x58AUD3R
win 7 ultimate 64 with a dual boot for win xp.
where my ratings fail is my hard drive is 1TB as the other 1tb is hidden as its used as a backup module only. This brings my ratings down to 5.9
