Some of you may or may not have noticed I haven't been posting as frequently... but heck, I still do, so you don't really miss me that much anyway!

Either way; I figured I would keep you updated as to what I have been doing with my time and post some screen captures from a film project I am currently working on. As usual, I can't give anything away as yet, blah blah blah... but there is one extra surprising bit of good news: you will all get to see the finished product within the next 7 days as I am well and trully far along with this one...

Anyway, here are the screenies:

So yeah, camera, edit, effects and caffeine... Jim, I reckon you can help out with the last one?

You are free to speculate what it is all about, should be fun.

Anyway, back on board! Tootles!

Cubase,

I take it your film is ...

Highlander (film/series) mix in with Kill Bill (film) style (sword fighting with marital art style) -there should only be one Highlander.:)

I think the last photo is where 2 chicks is talking about Jim the Old Guy while they were drinking JTOG famous cup of coffee from his coffee brewing company (forgot the name of it), I assume?;)
I don't know what it's about. But, lasers, fire, explosions, swords, an e90...I'm in.
Australia shoots the Milky Way Galaxy in the face!!

Then, two scientists travel back in time to stop Australia from pissing off our extra-terrestrial neighbours, using any force necessary! Awesome cars! Awesome guns! Awesome swords!

It's gonna be awesome!

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
It's one of those talking animal movies, right?

Let's see...Australian ninjas from the future do battle in order to stop an evil sect of Kiwi ninjas from going back in time and assassinating the band Men At Work, to prevent them from popularizing Australia through the song A Land Down Under. No doubt.

Finally, some good Australian sci-fi! Looking good, Cub. Can't wait to see the final results.
Speaking of good aussie sci-fi, I don't think there's been any since, well... Since Farscape.

The composition and lighting on those shots is pretty damn good. Definitely keep us posted Cub!

Your project could be the next Undead! :D
I gots a webcomic! http://yetanothercomic.com
Looking forward to seeing the full thing - it looks good! What are your plans for distribution?

looks awesome
Wow, you've all come up with some very interesting stories! In fact, I am writing them all down as we speak, haha. Shan't be much longer now till I can post the final product online, matter of days if all goes to plan.

Just a bit if info on the shots for those who are interested: this project was shot using the same camera (in fact, the next model up) that they used to shoot most of Cloverfield.

Cheers,

well I haven't got a clue, but cub I have missed you anyway

Nice! Someone's rockin' the After Effects on that electronic typewriter gadget of theirs. What other gadgets and techno-dodads are you wizards menacing the citizens of the southern hemisphere with? (Avoiding the standard "down under" reference . . . . . ah DAMMIT.)
Ah Stu, still the usual. Rocking out with the CS5 Suite with Premiere, After Effects (naturally) and a bit of 3DS Max. Still on the same machine too... Although its almost (just almost) reached its use-by date. You know the tech is getting away from you when 8GB of RAM just ain't gonna cut it no more!! But I was fortunate with one thing this whole project... Not 1 single crash, or so much as a lock-up... I am on my way to get a lottery ticket as we speak hahaha.
