Someone burned down a local church.

Not that I care too much for religion myself, but this church was inaugurated (or is the proper term concecrated, perhaps?) in 1760. The town had a 250 year memorial thing last year. It was a beautiful building, both inside and outside. A tall white wooden structure with a very well-made, delicately sculpted spire-tower, the ceiling inside was painted a heavenly sky with clouds...
This building had stood for 16 years when Thomas Jefferson drafted the declaration of independence. It was already over a hundred years old when the american civil war broke out.
As for me, I've been to three funerals and one christening in that church.
And then some asshole decided it would be fun to torch it. And now it's all gone. Like I said, I don't care much for the religious aspects.
But I damn well care about history.
