I received an email from a friend that most of will not believe. Go to the website below, fill out the appropriate info and click submit. Your driver's license with all the pertinant info will appear on the screen! Unbelievable! Anyone can access this site and obtain info directly from your license! Needless to say, I was mortified. What can be done about this?

Not a bad picture of me, but I've lost a lot of weight since that picture was taken.

Guess who Bill Gates donated to in the last election. Or just find his info along with the amount donated.
The best part is typing in your zip code to see if you live in a blue or a red area.[/url]

I feel so good to not be living in the United States right now. Do your driving licenses have social security numbers on them? That site would be a fine resource for identity theft. Just find someone who looks fairly close to you and go around using his/her personal information.

Crowley:
Driver's licenses are issued by states, so it's up to each state whether to use a person's SSN as the DL No. I know that here in Georgia the State finally allowed drivers to get a random DL No. rather than their SSN starting I believe around the year 2000. I would image (and hope) that most states no longer use SSNs as DL Nos.

Mosst of the states I've lived in recently have eliminated SSNs from the license, although the field is still there. This has resulted in many amusing seconds for myself.

Well great. I just received a notice for the agency that maintains the driver's license records that one or more employees hacked into the database and downloaded driver's license information. Apparently my information was among that which was hacked. I guess my SSN was not included in the information taken, but it's still a bit disconcerting. I don't know what someone's planning to do with my address and fingerprints, but I'm not sure I want to find out. The incompetance of some government agencies never ceases to amaze me.
