Whoa that episode "Impossible Astronaut" was crazy. Murder, Nixon, and aliens who wipe your memories when you turn away? Crazy madness. Can't believe I've got to wait another week for resolution.

I know - and how will they justify the doctor killing himself?? Will that be the season finale??

Torchwood 1st July I think. Or June. Can't wait

I think those aliens might actually be creepier than the weeping angels. Maybe.

I actually screamed 'GAH!' when the credits hit and i knew i had to wait a week to see the conclusion.

hmm, for a guy who never saw dr. Who. Can i just start at the "new" dr Who and be in "tv bliss" or do i have to start at the very first episode back in the 60's to get the whole picture?

(im allmost done watching the big bang theory and i want somthing to fill the void)

You start at the 2005 episode reboot beginning with the 9th doctor. Trust on this one.

I believe the first episode is named Rose. Take it from there.

Yeah if you are new and getting into Doctor Who you can start with the new ones. After you've watched all the new stuff and have time, I'd go back and watch some of the old stuff just to note the differences.

It's like watching TNG, DS9, and VOY without having seen the original Star Trek. You can watch them cold, but it's always interesting to get the historical perspective.

I've never heard the audio dramas so can't comment about that.

I've seen them all and the first Doctor I saw ending up being my favorite even though I've see all 11 of them. You never forget your first. :) That being said the fun of the series is that they all of their own unique personalities.

I'm personally enjoying Matt Smith having a band of companions. I always like it when the Doctor had a group of people hanging out with him. The conversations are so much more lively than when it's only one companion.

You could probably just pick it up from this episode just gone - all the main bits of info you need are in there - whos who and so on. And then I'd definitely recommend going and watching a few recent oldies if you get hooked.

Well i only jumped on board last season with the new doctor and new head writer (decided to give it a shot after years of friends loving it, and Stephen Moffat making me a fan of his on Sherlock). I had to wiki some stuff, but last season pretty much prepped me for the awesomeness of Doctor Who (and this season looks to continue that)

I must say id love to see Harry Enfield as Doctor Who, i loved his addaptation of Dirk Gentley and they allways refer to him as one of the Doctor's (one of the fat ones :P)

Just finished watching The Impossible Astronaut. Absolutely breathtaking. You would have recalled that my review of The Big Bang was less than congenial. Well, all is forgiven. This episode had me drawn in the whole way. I admit, at first when I read there was humour running all the way through it, I had my reservations but they were put the rest. In fact, some of the funniest lines in the series have come out of this episode and they've been wisely spent to contrast with the gloomier moments of the episode.

Matt is starting to come into his own a little more. Amy was less of a nag while Rory has developed a new found confidence and authority while Riversong...well, she's still Riversong. The story was everything I want in a Doctor Who episode: shadowy, time travel related with some deep, human elements. The situation felt real and it held my attention the whole time. The irony? It featured the least usage of aliens and CGI.

I couldn't be happier that I went into this spoiler free. Cannot wait for next week.

5 out of 5.

What the @#$#@! Part 2, "The Day of the Moon" is even crazier than Part 1. I think the show's creators have seen too many episodes of X-Files. They presented more questions than answers. I'm not sure it all made any sense to me. The episode left me staring blankly at the screen.

The bit right at the end of the episode left me amazed. The first episode raised some theories about things, this one sent me into theory overload :D
